✓ 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁 ↣ 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧

PART: 28

I was ready when Charles announced an attack that will take place in Las Vegas. It was time to make my suit of shame into a suit of fame. I put it on and looked dead in the mirror. I looked like a hero. A hero ready to get revenge.

We were loaded up in the Jets. It took four to hold us all. Landon came in with me on the jet Christina flies. Chloe and Cifer joined in with us with Danny and Evan. The other trainers are flying the other jets. I found out that they don't have powers. They are only skilled in combat and know how to work with us. As a matter of fact, most of the adults here don't have powers. Everyone except Henry and Lawrence.

The radiation was detected before hand around the area. Don't ask me how that worked or how they did that. I put on my mask and slid my hair into a ponytail. I'm thankful Kelly didn't get in this jet. I don't think she even knew which one Landon was on.

Landon speaks with Christina. I can't make out their conversation. I'm determined to kill the green fucker. I'll make him pay for what he did to Jon and his family.

"I'm ready to sting some ass," Danny says.

"What?" I ask.

"I have laser vision," he says proudly.

"Like Superman," Evan adds in.

"Don't compare me to that guy!" Danny seemed to get legit angry when he was told that comment. Evan laughs and apologizes. It must be an inside joke.

Landon sits beside me. "Okay, here's the plan. They are going to the Mandalay Bay Resort. First step of action before they get there, we clear the people out. Then they should show up and we do the best that we can to defend ourselves. But first objective is to get everyone out."

Are we suppose to kill them? If we don't, they'll just keep coming back.

Cifer raises his hand. "Who's showing up to the party?"

"I'm not sure," Landon answers. "We get in, get out and protect as many people as we can."

I'm curious to see how this plays out. With all of us together this time, it can either be for the best or the worst. Last time I was sent with Landon because I was the weak one. Then we got the worst of it. I'm prepared for any trick they want to play. Who knows? They might lead us to this location and they end up bombing another one. I trust in Charles and Reese that they got this right.

I go and talk with Christina. "How do we get to places so fast?" I ask. I see that we are above the clouds, moving in the speed of light.

"It's a button I press. The turbo engine that shoots us out with incredible speed," she says. "Reese designed it."

"Oh," I say. "Neat."

"Come sit," she says. She nudges me to the passenger seat. I want to press some of the pretty buttons lighting up on the control panel. That's probably not the best idea.

"Now, I don't want you getting upset like you did last time we were out," she says. "Sweet heart, I know this isn't an easy job. You all are so young to be involved in all this and for that I'm sorry. But with this job comes responsibility. You are responsible for people's lives. And I'm sorry to say but that man you saw won't be the last body you'll ever see."

My eyes start to get wet. I don't let a tear fall. "I know," I mumble.

She glances her head at me every now and then. "You're gonna have to get use to death. It's not all fun and games. It's upsetting. People will die. That's something you'll have to get use to. You can't let their lives crumble your own. You do your best out there and that's all the matters."
