Chapter 11: Mommy Dearest
The next two days were completely wonderful. Every morning I woke up in Travis' arms, and I would find him staring at me. What girl wouldn't love waking up and seeing the beautiful eyes of the man she loves? It was perfect.
I would wake up and we would eat breakfast and chat about our plans for the day. Then we would both get ready for work. We both left the house around 7:30 in the morning. But before we left we would always kiss goodbye, and that always put me in a great mood.
Unfortunately, today my parents would return and I would have to break the news that I moved in with Travis. I forgot to mention it to him this morning, so I decide to call him real quick before I leave the office for the day.
"Hey baby. Done with work already?"
"Not exactly..."
"What's wrong?"
"My parents are getting back today, and I don't think they are going to take the news of us living together well."
"Why wouldn't they? Your mom has been bugging you to find a man for years. Wouldn't she be happy?"
"My mom is very strict on her religious views. She doesn't think people should move in together until they're married; because she believes in preserving yourself for marriage..."
"Oh... Yeah well there will definitely be no 'preserving' if we live together.."
"I know, and I don't care. I want to live with you. I believe that if you're in love and you both mutually care for eachother than you don't have to wait."
"So, how are you going to break the news to her?"
"I guess over dinner, can you come by at 7?"
"But I want to see you before."
"Meet me at the coffee shop at 4:30."
"Okay... I love you."
"To the moon and back."
I hang up smiling, that boy. He's so charming.
A few hours later Travis and I have a cup of coffee. I have to cut it short, because I need to get home to start cooking. We kiss goodbye; and I start heading towards home.
When I get to my parents' house I see that they are already home. Great. I turn my car off and head into the house.
"Hey Mom."
"Hey sweetie." She gives me a big hug.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too Mom. So where's Dad?"
"In his office. He's working so you should probably wait a little while."
"Alright. Well Travis is coming over for dinner at 7. Is it alright if I cook tonight?" Her smile starts to fade, but she replaces it with a fake one. What was that all about?
"That's fine dear."
"Okay, well I'm going to start cooking."
....
A few hours later Travis arrives and we all sit around the dining room table, eating the lasagna that I slaved over.
Travis leans in to whisper something in my ear, "Great dinner babe. Can't wait for dessert." He winks at me and I about slap him.
"Travis, not in front of my parents." I hiss in his ear.
My mother interrupts us, "Something you need to tell us Melody?"
