Chapter 2: We Say Hello

I find myself looking into a beautiful pair of turquoise eyes. I've never seen this man before. He has sandy blond 'old school' Justin Bieber hair (I was never a fan of the Bieber hair, but it looked absolutely gorgeous on him)  

I then notice him staring back at me. He starts approaching me and suddenly my heart starts beating rapidly inside of my chest. I have never felt this way before. What's wrong with me?

"Hey, I'm Travis." I hear a deep voice say. I nervously look up and try my best to turn my mouth into a smile. "I'm Melody," I reply back nervously.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I notice him blush after he said that, I then start to blush.

"I've never seen you around here before." I do a mental facepalm. Why did I say that? Just because I haven't seen him around town doesn't mean he hasn't been here. There are plenty of people in town I have never seen nor met.

"Yeah, I'm new to town. My uncle Drake left me his estate after he passed, I decided it would be a great place to have a fresh start."

"I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Honeysuckle is a great place for a fresh start. It can get pretty boring I reckon. But the folks here are all genuine and kind. I suppose I should say welcome."

"Thank you, I look forward to the small town experience."

I start to chuckle to myself. Most people think the small town experience is supposed to be great. In reality it can sometimes be quite annoying, everyone everywhere knows all your business all the time. But it's also true that the folks are just kind souls.

I notice him giving me a puzzling look and realize I laughed a little louder than I was meant to. I just ignore it. Travis gets the hint and keeps the conversation going.

" I dont mean to be forward or come off as creepy, but I've been dying to ask you to dance all night."

I can't help but smile at the thought of him and I being so close. Touching. It gives me goosebumps to think about.

"I would love to dance." And just like that he takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor. I notice glances from my mother and a few neighbors, but I ignore them. All I can focus on is Travis. Even though I've only known him for five minutes, I feel more alive than ever before.

After we danced to some upbeat country music like Black Shelton, Luke Bryan, and The Band Perry; the music slows down and they play "Highway Don't Care" by Tim Mcgraw and Taylor Swift.

Travis pulls me in close to him. He then places his hands on my waist while lay my hands upon his neck. We just sway to the music. When a certain part of the chorus comes on my body ignites:

I can't live without ya, I can't live without ya baby.....

I see a sparkle in Travis' eyes and realize that just like in the song, somehow I know I wont be able to live without him. Is this what love at first sight feels like?
