Melody's POV:

Later that day...

We both climb out of the parked truck and entwine our fingers. Together we make our way into my parents' house. 

As joyful and happy as it sounds I was dreading the 'I Told You So' s that I knew were bound to come. I open the door and smell the scent of breakfast wafting through the air.

We make our way to the kitchen, to my surprise m parents are busy working away at breakfast; singing might I add...

Very peculiar.

I clear my throat to announce our presence.

Both of them turned towards us smiling, and I swear in unison the spoke,

"Good morning lovebirds."

Then they both burst into laughter.

I gave Travis a look and he just shook his head while grinning from ear to ear.

"Mom, Dad... How'd you know?"

They both looked at eachother and then down at our hands.. Which were still entwined. Then my mom just rose an eyebrow at me.

"Okay just say it both of you..."

Here it comes.

"No there's no need for I told you so's in this house. Lets just eat," my mother said.

We sat down at the dining table and chowed down.

After we were finished we had a politer brunch like chat.

"I hope you and Dad didn't stay up too late waiting for me last night.. I should've called.."

My parents both laugh,

"Oh sweetie.. We knew you werent coming home last night; we cleaned up and went straight to bed after everyone left, besides you're a married adult."

I was surprised by my mothers word. I kind of choked on my orange juice a little bit.

I looked over to my husband, who just shrugged, attempting to hide his half smile, half smirk.

I just shook my head,

"So I was the only one convinced that I wasn't going to be staying the night last night?"

They all gave me a bemused look before we all burst into laughter.

After a few minutes we all couldnt laugh anymore becaus eour stomachs hurt so bad.

"Merry Christmas Eve everyone," I said. 

Then Travis leaned in to give me a light peck, "I'm so glad I have you back."

Then in an even lower whisper he said, "I told you so."

I smacked him on the shoulder before leaning in for another kiss.
