Chapter 17: A Princess Day

A span of months..

The next eight months consisted of a lot of things. Picking out flowers, colors, invitations, food, cake, chairs, table settings, lights, music, and so much more.

Travis and I didn't get into any big arguments over anything. There were a few small arguments over wedding details but nothing major.

Now it was the day before my wedding. I was staying over at my best friend Stacy's house. I wish I was at my house with Travis. But.. It would be awkward, and Cameron has her hands full with getting two boys ready for a wedding. (Her husband and three year old son.) I was glad to have some time with Stacy. I never get to see her because she's a travel agent and is never home.

"Okay so... Want do you want to do tonight?" I asked her.

"Well since there were no strippers at your bachelorette party last weekend, we could..."

"NO."

"Chill... I was going to say watch Magic Mike and eat takeout."

"That sounds like my kind of party."

"How did I know you'd say that? Thechinese will be here in 30. So let's get the movie started!"

She walks over and pops the disk into the DVD player. We snuggle up into a fuzzy blanket and I lay my head in her lap as she plays with my hair.

"Stace?"

"Yeah."

"Do you think I'm rushing into this?"

"No, why would you think that?"

"I don't know I'm just so young."

"Mel, you guys are already practically married. You are living together afer all. It is just the commmitment to stay with eachother for the rest of your lives."

"I guess your right."

"What's wrong?"

"What if he stops loving me?" I whisper.

"Melody, I have never seen someone more in love than he is. The way he looks at you. I don't know... I just know it is something that is never going to go away."

"You think?"

"I know."

"I just love him so much. I don't know if I could handle it if something happened and he left."

"It's all about the leap of faith Mel."

"I know but things happen."

"You haven't done anything have you?"

"Of course not! But guys get bored and then they are unfaithful. I don't want my marriage to end."

"It won't."

"I know. I'm just being silly."

"Yes you are."

"Thanks for talking it out. I know I'm making the right choice."

"No problem."

We both jump when the doorbell rings. It must be the chinese. We quickly pay and gobble down the food.

"We should start the movie over."

"Good idea!"

"I'm going to bed right after though. The bride needs her beauty sleep."

"Indeed she does."

I fall asleep halfway through the movie.
