I twisted sideways to avoid a tree and ramed into another one. I fell almost a foot in the air before catching myself. Martin kept yelling at me and saying things like. Geesh where did you get your flying lisense. Most of the time I replied by telling him a guard was coming, just to see him freak out.

By sunset we were already far gone. We found a small cave overlooking a vally and spent the night there. Kiera was still sweating which was confussing me because it wasn't hot. Martin kept warning me not to touch her, but I didn't listen to him. In about four minutes he was sleeping like a baby. I tiptoed over to Kiera and put a finger to her forehead. I yelped in suprise. My finger felt like it was on fire and it was turning an angry red. I cursed under my breath before curling up on the floor and falling into a deep sleep.

Alarms sounded and horns blarred. My stall door swung open and a guard reached in to grab me. I saw Skye being dragged towards Kaine and it seemed we were heading the same way. Whepn we reached Kaine I noticed four sixteen year old boys standing near Skye and Kaine.

"It seems your friends have left the campus." He said staring at Skye. "Before they left they left us a...gift."
"You have 24 hours to find them before I release batrachotoxin in to your bloodstream through your braclet." "There is no antidote, if you don't return I will kill your friends too."

He looks around at us and then waved. The four boys shift, before taking off throgh the woods. Skye and I stare at each other before shifting, and starting our own journey.

Fours boy tear through the forest seaching for something. They attack anything that moves, ripping it to shreds. I look up at them staring into their eyes. They don't even think before running, right at me. I dogde, but there are to many of them and eventually one of them gets me. Tackling me to the ground, before destroying my entire body. The next thing I know I'm looking down at my body instead of looking up at them. I stare at my body motionless on the ground. One of the boys picks me up a d carries me out of the woods. The other three walk over to the motionless Kiera. They go to dig there paws into her chest, when I snap awake.

I look over at Martin who is gently touching Kiera's head. I shake my head of thoughts and clear my head.

"Give me your wrist." He says walking over towards me.

"What?" I say grabbing my wrist.

"They're tracking you with that thing." He says pointing to the braclet. He sits down on the ground and puts his hands out. I nod and put my hand into his. He puts a hand on the metal braclet and pulls. I yell just as the metal braclet comes flying off. It slams into the wall and shatters to pieces. I rub my wrist, and stare at the two little red dots. I stare up at Martin in shock.

"How did you-"

"We have to go now." He say interupting me. "Kiera's getting worse, in a few days if we don't find a healer she will die"

"What's wrong with her?" Martin stands over Kiera thinking.

"Well I think she's sleeping." He said rubbing his head.

"Sleeping?" I ask looking over at Kiera. "She looks dead."

"Well yes, it's more like a coma, she was never taught how to use her power so it just errupted." "I guess you could say she's charging." "But she doesn't know how to unplug." He explained. He gently lifted her up and carried her to the mouth of the cave.

"Let's go."

Kiera

It was cold, and dark and it felt like i was floating in jello. There was no sound or light, no pain. I felt free. Was this heaven? I tried to open my eyes but that made me feel tired. Like I lost a years worth of sleep. I was fine untill i saw a flash of light, like a spark. My fingers started tingling and I suddenly felt like I was falling, down, down, down.

Martin

She was slipping. I could feel it, the connection between us was getting weaker and I could feel her falling, feel her slipping from my grasp.

"Hold on Kiera." I whisperd to her. I could hear her heart beat slowing as she fell. She was dieing and there was nothing I could do. Her eyes changed from and bright green to a dusty blue. I tried contacting her, but she wouldn't respond. Her animal knew she was dieing, but she had no idea. She was stuck in a shadow world and soon the darkness would consume her. Zacs worried voice snaps me out of my thoughts.

"They're here." He calls in my mind . "Kids in white shirts and camo pants, it's the junior guards." He says. I look down in the valley and see a train passing through, and it gives me an idea. I point to the train and mouth the words get to the train. Zac looks at me in confussion. We are about 20ft up and I can't fly. I nod to him and start running towards the edge of the cave. Zac follows quickly.

Let's play catch. I tell him.

Zac

Martin runs towards the edge of the mountain like a lunitic.

Let's play catch. He says. I'm about to respond something like are you crazy, when he jumps. Kiera goes flying into the air and I dive. My talons grib the edge of her shirt and before I know it we're spiraling out of controll to the ground. We're only ten feet from the ground, when I drop her. Her shirt slips from my grasp and she free falls throught the air. I gain controll of myself again and watch as she falls. I dive again, but I can't seem to catch up with her.

Just as she's about to hit the ground. Martin comes out of nowhere, sopping wet. Kiera falls right into his arms and Martin falls backward from the force. I land next to them shifting back. I look back at the cliff and see four boys staring down at us with binoculars. I wave mockingly at them, before helping Martin up. I look over my shoulder at the dissapering train. It was headed right towards a tunnel.

"Run." I yell to Martin. He picks up Kiera and dashes towards the train. I follow and throw myself into one of the cars. Martain runs next to the train, chasing it. I reach out and grab Kiera. The tunnel is getting closer and Martin is still chasing the train. The train gets closer and closer to the tunnel just as Martins about to give up and blur of fur, slams into him and throws him into the car. Martin and the mysterious person slam into the side of the car. A lynx shakes itself off before sitting right next to Martain. A little jaguar sits in the corner with the lynx watching us. I watch Martin brushing himself off. Dirt cakes his face and his nose is bleeding.

I see a flash of blonde hair in the corner of my eye and I watch as the lynx changes into Skylar stands up and brushes some dirt off her shoulder.

"Skylar?" I say staring at her stunned.
