I know you're in there Kiera, I know you're in there. I snap awake. "Jordan." Jordan was in my head, somehow he was talking to me. I close my eyes.
Jordan! Jordan! Help, I'm in some kind of dream land. After a few minutes of silence, I realised he wasn't going to talk back, it must have been an accident, and he probaly didn't even know he was talking to me. It was now night, I must have fallen asleep early. I felt for the key. Nothing. I panicked and jumped out of bed. Searching my dresser blind, and coming up empty handed. I ran to the bathroom the last place I saw it. It was there sitting on the counter, perfectly fine. I reached out to get it, and let out a breath. That was before I turned around and saw the two Jaxes staring back at me. I almost screamed. Almost. They had on the same jeans and same red sweatshirt. They were identical.
"I'm not giving you the key." I say.
"I don't want the key, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." The first Jax says.
"Oh please can you believe this guy." The other Jax says.
"That sounds like something a distraction would say." First Jax says.
"I'm the real Jax." Second Jax says.
"No I'm the real Jax." The first one says. Through all the confussion I slowly make my way towards the door. When I reach it, second Jax grabs my arm.
"Kiera you can't go out there." "There will be more distractions like him." Second Jax say pointing a finger at the other Jax.
"Oh yeah, when's her birthday?" First Jax asks crossing his arms.
"What I don't know-" He starts.
"Uh huh." The first Jax says.
"We were born in a lab or close to it." "That's why I don't know her birthday." Second Jax explains.
"I don't trust this guy." First Jax says pointing a finger at Jax 2 and frowning. I pull my arm free from Jax's grasp.
"Neither of you are Jax," I say holding back tears. "Jax is dead."
"No Kiera, please it's me." Jax two says. "When I was put in the machine I realized it doesn't brain wash you, it just moves your ideas and mind into like corner of your brain." "You're trapped inside yourself, with a different personality on the outside." He explains. I look over at the other Jax.
"Don't look at me, only a Distraction would know that." He says. I look at the two Jaxes, confused.
"You're both going to leave." I say. Jax two nods, and backs away slowly. Jax one stares at my neck.
"You know I can't do that." He says. Then his face begins to change from Jax to an older man. His jaw cracks, and his face reforms. His eyes turn from emerald green to a crisp blue. His hair darkens to a dark brown. A beard and mustache form around his mouth. He smiles.
"Surprise."
We walk out out onto the plaza, there are kids running around and adults laughing. There is a huge cookout in the center. We placed each new morph that we rescued with a family, so they could be taught about the world.
"Come let's get something to eat." Martin says. "You deserve it." I look over at the food The smell of burning reminds me of everything that has happend.
"What about up there?" I ask pointing to the celing. Martin knows right away what I'm talking about.
"It will never be the same, but the most we can do is try." Martin pulls me towards the food.
"Eat, we have lots of work ahead." I take one last look at the celing, before walking towards the food. What I didn't notice was the owl sitting right behind me.

Jax two jumps to my side. "Leave her alone." He says trying to be quiet.
"Make me." He says. The fake Jax guy comes towards us. Jax puts up a hand, and it lights on fire. The ball of flame floats just above his palm. He throws it at him and fake Jax falls to the ground. I stare at him then back at Jax, wondering what just happend. The fake Jax's body starts turn to ash. A strong wind blow through the house and the ashes dissaper.
"What is happenig?" I ask, looking back at Jax. He puts his hand down and the fire goes out.
"Science." He replies.
