"That's impossible." I say, the anger that fueled my words melting away. Kiera seems lost in thought, but she snaps out of it quickly. The other girl is suddenly very alert and so is the boy.
"Skye, can you hear anything?" Kiera asks to the girl with chestnut hair. Her head turns to face Kiera, her blue eyes wide open.
"Just the other kids talking." She responds.
"B5." Someone calls out. We all turn towards the source of the sound. A women with brown hair stands by an open door in the wall waiting patiently.
A boy with sandy blonde hair stands up and walks across the room, right to the women. They talk for a few minutes before the women nods, and the boy slips through.
e door automatically opens and I walk in. Again no windows. A bunk bed sits against one wall. Across from that is a desk with a really fancy looking chair. A bathroom is to the right and a closet to the left. Out of curiosity I open the doors to the closet. There are a couple pairs of jeans and a few white, grey, and black tees. I take one look at it and turn away.
"To bad, it's not going to last long." I mumble.
"What are you talking about." I spin around and see Skye standing in the doorway.
"I'm not talking.. to anything." I say slowly with a slight smile. That was probaly the worst lie of my life.
"I can see that." Skye says smiling. She walks closer stopping in front of me. "We're going to be fine." She says putting a hand on my shoulder. I really hope she's right.
One Week Later
I walk back inside from our evening soccer match, and go straight to the room I share with Skye. Seven days ago I was scared every second of every day, now I was outside playing soccer. Jax was also teaching me how to play basketball. He shared a room with Michael that was across from our room.
The strange boy named Cameron also bunked with them. They still haven't noticed that Michael wasn't a morph, and I wasn't going to say anything.
The metal electronic door quickly scanned my face then opened automatically. I was happy here but I didn't completely trust them. They say the locked doors and the fact that there are no windows are for our protection, but I don't believe them. I watch the doors every day and night watching it open and close.
I walk in looking for Skye but she's not in our room.
"Skye?" I call. There's no answer, but I hear voices down the hall. I turn and see Skye in the boy's room. It was almost nine but I didn't want to be alone so I went across the hall to meet them.
Jax and Sky are talking about the next soccer game. Michael just looks through tiny crack in the wall, thinking of his parents. I walk over to him.
"I need a phone or something. Anything." He sighs, looking out into the gloomy night.
"I know Micheal, there is no wifi here." I say trying to think of the best excuse for why we can't call anyone, but I know that nothing can help him right now. Especially the girl who got him into this mess.
"Yeah, but why are we here?" "Why can't we just leave?" I shake my head not knowing any of the awnsers. I feel helpless not knowing the answers to any of Mic's or my own question.
"You two are just been paranoid." Sky says, taking off her new sneakers.
"I'm not paranoid." I protest, sinking into the extremely comfortable desk chair.
"Sure." Jax teases. Cameron walks into the room with a hood over his head. He always had a hood on his head, it's kind of creepy. I look up at the clock in their room. It's 8:50.
