Chapter Forty One

Martin

I raise my head from my hands and see Zac walking over to Kiera. I jump out of the chair and try to stop him. He was going to kill himself. I jumped over the chair and raced to the bed but I was to late. He grabbed her hand, and was frozen. I stopped in my tracks almost running into him. Light escaped from the hand he was using to hold Kiera. He looked frozen in time, but it seemed like power was being drained from him. I tried to touch him, but when I got close an invisible barrier through be backwards. I flew through the air slamming into the wall behind me. Skye ran over to me, but i pushed her away walking back to Zac. Just as I was about to touch Kiera, she sits up, and Zac falls to the ground. She's breathing hard, and sweating, but alive. Her eyes start changing back to green, and then back to her normal light purple. She looks around the room, and starts crying. I sit next to her on the bed and hold my daughter.

Zac

Right when I touched her time stopped, I looked around at everyone standing totally still. Then there was a flash of light and I fell into a room engulfed in flames. I called for Kiera, because I couldn't move. There was smoke and flames everywhere. I was afraid to move so I just stood still, untill the fire trapped me in a corner I closed my eyes and screamed when it touched me. I was still screaming, when I opened my eyes. The fire didn't seem to be burning me, it kind of just went around me, and the smoke went right past me. So i walked around the room, untill I found a hole in the celing. I jumped and got flung up into the celing. I raced upwards through a dark tunnel of some sort. When I finally landed, I found myself in another tunnel. I saw Kiera standing in the middle. She was putting her hands up against the air, and being all mime like. It really confussed me so I walked over to her, and tapped her on the shoulder. My finger went right through her shoulder, like a ghost.

"What the?" I say, while still trying to poke her. I finally gave up and stood in front of her waiting. I felt like a spectator. After talking to herself for about 10 minutes she finally closed her eyes and put her head against the air again. It was really wierd. After she did tnat the whole room started spinning and the next thing I know I'm on the floor back at the hospital. Skye runs over to me. I just stare up at the celing exhausted. Skye pulls me up and walks me to the chair. Before we reach the chair, I fall into a deep sleep.

Finally after about an hour Kiera fell asleep, she had an emotional break down about Jax. Her fever went down and her eyes changed back to normal. But she pretty much cried herself to sleep. She was going to need a time to heal from all of that, other wise we would have another outbreak. She also needed a teacher, someone would could show her how to controll her power. I looked over at Zac who had practical collapsed before falling asleep. I watched him sleep peacfully before turning back to Kiera.

"NOOOOO!" Someone yells.

I whip around and see Zac screaming and shaking. He rocked himself back and forth like a baby. I slowly get up and walk towards him.

"Zac, hey it was just a dream." I saw in a soothing voice.

"No, no,no it was more than a dream, it was real." He says fear in his eyes.

"Okay tell me about it." I say

"Well um.. it all started with a glass shattering, thrn there was this giant earthquake, right here, and everything was shattering and collapsing, and-"

"See it was all just a dream." "There is no earthquake." Right as I said that a glass of water shatterd to pieces and fell to the ground. I looked at Zac.

"Stop that." I tell him, gripping his arm.

"It's not me." He says looking around the room.

"This isn't a normal earthquake, someones controlling it." I say, dropping Zac's arm.

"How did you know this was going to happen?" I ask grilling him on the spot.

"It came to me in a dream." He says turning his fear into a smile but only for a moment. I see Skye waking up and looking at us confussed. I ignore her and turn to Zac.

"Do you know who is doing this?"

"No, i don't know, what if it's just natural.?" He asks looking back up to me.

"No this is definitely someone breaking out."

"Gosh that's a lot of break outs for one day."

"Well Kiera's probaly triggerd someone elses." I explain.

"Zac this person could be dangerous," "This ability can get out of hand." The building shakes and people in the city scream. Skye comes over to Zac and I and joins in. "We have to figure out who this person is before they destroy the whole town without knowing it." The lights in the room flicker on and off. I look over at Skye ready to give her directions when I notice her hands. Little blue sparks, are zipping across her hands.

"Skye." I say. She looks up at me.

"It's okay." She looks up at me like she's confussed and then starts crying.

"I'm sorry." She says between tears. I gently pull her over to a chair, and push her down.

"Skye look at me, focus," "You can stop this." I say in a calm soothing voice.

"I can't." She says looking around the room at all the things shattering.

"Skye calm down." I say putting a hand on her wrist. She pulls back instantly.

"Skye give me your hamd." I say gently.

"No, I can't." She says holding her hands. I gently pull on one of her hands. She resists but in the end I win. I place a hand over hers like I was putting out a candle. Her hand flickerd blue sparks, and then died. The shaking and flickering stopped and all was calm again. I took a deep breath, and Skye looked up.

"Over?"

"Over." I tell her.
