Half- Ruined (Book 2 in the Morph Trilogy)

Chapter Forty Three

I didn't feal bad about leaving, I did what I had to do to save everyone. I could tell Martin cared about this Kelly, so I ran. I ran past Nathan and climbed up the ladder. Nathan grabbed my leg but I shook him off. The giant bolder above my head dissaperd. Nathan yelled at a man named Jordan to close off the entrance, but he was to late. I was already at the top. I wanted to morph butI knew he was right behind me. So I stalled.

"Where are you going." He yells to me. I can feel my teeth starting to dig into my lip.

"I'm going to Kaine." I yell back.

"You won't get far." He says, I can tell he's stalling to. The bolder dissapers again and I see Skye coming up. I wasn't worried though I knew I was way faster then her. The only person I couldn't outrun would be Kiera, but there was no way she was coming out here.

"You're right, what was I thinking." I fall to my knees surrendering. Skye shrugs her shoulders and turns to leave, Nathan motions for me to follow, before going down the ladder. That's when I shift. I give them a little yip, before taking off. It was a perfect trick. I knew Skye was probaly going to try to chase me so I didn't look back. I just ran following the train tracks back to Kaine's lab. He was probaly already in the process of making himself president. Good for him I thought to myself.

I knew I couldn't catch Cody, but at least I tried. After about running a mile, I knew it was over. He just kept running, and I was not used to running on grass. So I turned around and walked all the way back to the underground city. Zac was waiting for me at the top with a glass of water. I reached out to grab it, but he swipes it back, and takes a long sip from it. Then he hands me the glass.

"Is this what you wanted?" He says grinning like an idiot. I lightly punch him on the arm, and head down the ladder. After grabbing a glass of water, I head to Kiera's room. Martin is sitting on the bed head in hands. He looks up when I walk in.

"So now that you're my leader or whatever, what should I call you?" I ask him. Nathan told me how Martin had always been in charge of the pack, and how Zac was next in line.

"What who told you-" he began

"I was thinking leader of the ol mighty morphs, or maybe master."

"You could always just call me Caleb."

"Caleb?" "Where did that come from?"

"It's my real name." He says looking over at Kiera. I guessed she was sleeping again. I turn to leave the room but Matin or Caleb stops me.

"Hey Skye,"

"Yeah."

"Get Zac and Emma we're going after Cody."

I slam another pin into the map. Now that I was president, we did things the way I wanted to do things. I called it the Kaine way. Most of my guards were out with the morphs, destroying the world. I was finally giving orders instead of taking them. It felt great. At first it was hard, some of the other leaders wanted to be president. All the other labs wanted to challenge me, but after I told them I had three tri morphs they all backed off. It was a lie, but it was only a matter of time before I had one. I had Martin's precious wifey in Skye's old cell. I didn't even see what he saw in her. She has blonde hair, and soft brown eyes. When i brought her up from level two, She didn't fight me. She was quiet the whole time untill know.
