I waited at the waiting room as Layla played at the little day care.

Thank god she wasn't here looking at my tears.

"Angie's Family?" I hear the nurse from the door.

"Yes" I got up and walked up to her.

"Well she didn't overdose that's a good thing but she passed out from all the heroin passing through her blood stream. We've ran through some test and 40% of Angie's blood is from all type of drugs. She's an addict"

"Oh my god" I said as more tears ran down my cheeks. "She'll be okay right?"

"Yes but here are some rehab centers that will help her get back on her feet" she handed me a pamphlet.

"Thank you" I said as I dried my tears calling Layla to come. "Can we go see her?"

"Yes she's resting but don't give her too much stress her heart is a little hard to function from all the strong drugs"

"Okay"

"Follow me" she said and we followed.

"Here" she opened the door as we both entered.

"Hey guys" my mom smiled waving.

Once the nurse left I spoke. "How long?"

"What do you mea-"

"How long have you been doing drugs?!" I spoke louder.

It got silent.

"About 5 months"

"Oh god!" I tired holding my tears.

"Cameron I didn't have a choice. I felt so lonely, sick and tured of being so sad and I wanted to live life in the moment"

"Mom this stuff is bad for you! Don't you get it. You could have died you're lucky you're alive. Mom I love you"

"I know that. I regret it but face it. It's too late"

"No because I am taking you to a rehab. I'm not telling George or anyone about this. The excuse for your rehab is you went to go visit grandma because she needed help around the house"

"Cameron please we have to tell George"

"No! We don't know what he'll do"

"He'll take me to a rehab just like you"

"I won't risk it. I love you enough for no one to know. Not even Leyuh"

"Is it that you care or because you're embarrassed that your own mother is a crack head?!"

"Mom I love and care about you and I want you to feel better. Do this for Layla" I turned to see she was reading a book ignoring our conversation that was completely normal"

"I'll go and do it and it'll be our little secret"

"Okay" I said as Layla walked up to me.

"I'm really hungry" she said.

"Cameron please go get Layla some food from the food court"
