28. Made It

"Welcome Initiates, to stage three of your Initiation, the last part. The part that will determine your final place and the job you will get in Dauntless" Max summed his speech up quickly

"Give it your best because this time, you'll know you're in a simulation. So, you'll have to use your training skills"

The room was filled with people, but we were later told that only the leaders would be able to see our simulations

Once we were all put in line, Max said that the first simulation would start in some minutes

I pulled down the sleeves of my leather jacket and looked around

Most of the people looked like they weren't really stressed

They didn't show it at least

My eyes traveled to where the leaders were and my gaze landed on Eric

His eyes met mine and seconds later he tilted his head towards the exit

I bit my lower lip and waited for him to walk out

After he was outside, I waited for a minute and got out of the room myself

I walked in the hallway searching for Eric but no one seemed to be there

A pair of arms wrapped around my waist and before I could think about it, I threw my body backwards to get out of the person's grip, hit my back on the person's chest and just like that, I was pinned on the wall 

Eric let out a chuckle and looked up at me with an amused look on his face

"I was going to say something about you having to be determined and all but it seems you got that covered already" He stated, keeping the distance between us small

I chuckled and crossed my arms in front of my chest

"Is this how you treat a lady, Eric?" I joked while raising an eyebrow

"Well..." he leaned in while smirking

"I don't see a lady around here" he stated

I let out a sound of mixed surprise and a laugh as he said that, and then lightly slapped his chest

"I should be feeling offended," I said and took a step forward

He chuckled and placed his hands on either side of my waist while I wrapped my arms around his neck

"I know you will do great today" he stated

"I hope I do" 

"You don't hope. You know you will. Say it" he stated

"I...I know I will" I muttered, looking down and then back at him

He put a strand of hair behind my ear and nodded "You should go back.I will come after some minutes"

"This is starting to get annoying" I muttered without thinking

"I told you why it has to be like this-"

I shook my head, not wanting to talk about our situation

"Yeah, sorry. You're right. I should go."

I took a step forward, ready to leave but his hand wrapped around my wrist, making me turn back around to look at him

"What?" I asked with a chuckle as he pulled me closer, wrapping his one arm around my waist

"No kiss?"

"If you wanted one, you should've just asked" I informed him with a smirk

"Well then, can I have a kiss?" he asked with a chuckle
