40. Truths

I pushed the heavy door and entered the gym, immediately hearing Eric's voice

"You need to stop?" he asked the brown haired girl named Christina who was beaten up on the floor

She nodded, breathing loudly

Molly definitely had potential

I waited for Eric to snap at Christina, say something along the lines of "Well, you should've thought about that before entering this faction" or something

But all I heard was an okay

A smile made its way onto my face, at least he was keeping his promise to me

"Let me give you a hand"

Well that was unexpected

Eric helped her up "Okay, everyone let's take a break"

He turned around and saw me

I smiled at him when we walked up to me but received nothing back

"Look at you all understanding and kind," I said

"What did Max want?"

"Well, he introduced me to the Erudite representative-"

"You talked to Jeanine?" he cut me off

"Yeah." I chuckled "She is as insufferable as all the Erudites, only a little bit more interesting to listen to. She has a strange accent" I joked

"Did you talk to her about me? About us?"

"Well she asked but- Eric, what's going on? Is this what you meant when you said that something big was coming?"

He put his hands on each of my shoulders and sighed

"We will talk later. I need you to find Four and tell him that Lauren is looking for him"

"What am I, a freaking messenger? This is more important than whatever Lauren wants with Four" I raised my voice

"Saraphine, please do this for me"

I rolled my eyes "Fine, I'll do it."

"Thank you"

I turned my back at him and headed towards the exit

I decided to look for Four at the Pit but found Lauren instead

"Hey," the dark haired girl greeted me

"Hey, Lauren- I couldn't find Four"

"Okay?" She raised an eyebrow

"Because you are looking for him" It was my turn to raise an eyebrow

"No, I'm not. Where did you hear that?"

"Eric said-" I stopped

I turned my back at her and headed back to the gym

"Time," I followed Eric's voice and found him and the initiates there

A couple of people were pulling Christina up from the Chasm

"What's going on? Did you try to jump?" I walked to where they were and crossed my arms in front of my chest

Christina glared up at me and then at Eric

"Tell me what happened. Now,"

"She didn't try to jump" Tris said, helping Christina sit down on the floor

"Then what happened?"

"Eric pushed her" Will quietly said, looking at Christina

I turned around to look at Eric
