13. Night

Once we were all in our dorm, Abbey decided to talk to Lisa

And of course, Lisa forgave her before she even apologized

That was one of the things Lisa always did

She could never hold a grudge on anyone

I was really annoyed so I left the room

I headed to the Chasm-for me it always seemed.. welcoming, beautiful even

The sound of the water falling down, relaxed me

I sat on the side of the bridge and just looked at the water falling down into the darkness

Last week a Dauntless member had told me that when members reached a certain age, they had to go live with the Factionless

But lots of them jumped off the Chasm instead

"Lot's of people have been stupid enough to sit there. You could fall at any time." I heard a low voice say

"I am not jumping off," I stated, looking at the water

I heard his footsteps coming closer and soon he was standing next to me

"You should be in your dorm."

I rolled my eyes and stayed silent

"Initiate-"

"I came here to enjoy the silence, but well-" I stood up, coming face to face with him

He seemed tired, his face slightly red and swollen, covered with bruises

I was about to continue but got distracted

He seemed like he didn't care, though

"Those guys did a pretty good job on your face," I stated, tilting my head slightly to the side, my eyes on his bruises

"I still won." he said, making me roll my eyes

"Is that all you care about? Winning? Power?" I asked

"Pretty much, yeah." he said, raising an eyebrow

"That's stupid," I said without thinking

"Is it, now?" he asked and started walking closer to me

I backed up and looked behind

If I wasn't careful I would probably fall down the Chasm

"Pissing me off is stupid, Amity. You will learn that pretty soon" he stated and turned his back at me, leaving
