35. New Reality

"I still can't believe Bill did it," I said, sitting down at the lunch table next to Lisa

"Why? Are you that much of a romance hater?" Lisa asked and side glanced at Dave

"I'm just saying- getting married at 17 seems irrational to me" I said with a shrug of my shoulders and looked at the people at our table

Dave, Lisa, Adam, and Abbey were all gathered up at our table since before I arrived and Jocelyn, Josh, and Cris were nowhere to be found

I had just learned that Bill proposed to Jocelyn

"I think it's adorable," Lisa said, making us all laugh

"Dave, I think she's throwing subtle hints," Abbey said with a chuckle, earning a slap on the arm from Lisa

That made Abbey laugh even more

"Speaking of adorable," I said with a grin "Josh just walked in with a really cute guy"

I turned to look at Dave, raising an eyebrow

"I have seen them together before" Adam stated and Lisa nodded in agreement

"Are they dating?" I asked and he chuckled

"As far as I know, they're just friends" Dave casually answered

"Yeah, friends my ass," Abbey laughed

"Well technically, it's his ass-" Adam started but was cut off by somebody pulling the chair that was next to his back

"Hey guys," Josh said with a smile, sitting on the chair

We all looked at each other with knowing smiles

"What?"

"Nothing," we all said in unison afterward

The doors opened and Max walked in, followed by Eric

"There comes, the creepy boyfriend of our leader" Abbey said and stuffed her mouth with what was left of the cake on her plate

"Oh, come on" I rolled my eyes and she shrugged

"What, I'm not judging-he could be amazing in bed for all I know and that's why you're with him,"

"Abbey, do you see this glass with ice cold water?" I cut her off

She raised an eyebrow

"I'm gonna throw it on you and freeze your ass if you don't shut up"

"Okay, I'll stop," she said, raising her hands up

"Thank you," I said, my eyes following Eric as he sat down next to Joyce at the usual table the leaders sat

"So, is he?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, not taking my eyes off him "Is he what?"

"Is he amazing in bed?"

He caught my gaze and tilted his head to the side, the corner of his mouth twitching up

"I don't know, Abbey? Is Cris?" I finally broke eye contact and turned to look at her, a smirk forming my lips

For a moment her eyes widened and her face went red

"How did- how do you-"

"I was passing your room the other night and I happened to see him exit your room in a hurry, jeans, shirt, and shoes in hand. Seems like you guys were having fun" I winked and the people at our table laughed

The Initiates walked through the door and we all turned to look at them

"Am I the only one getting some serious Deja Vu right now? I don't think I am" Adam whispered and we all silently agreed
