"I know there's something going on with you" I heard her continue to follow me, even though I was only trying to avoid her

I smoothed down my black skinny jeans and sighed

"Lisa can you just-"

"No" She walked in front of me, blocking my way

I rolled my eyes

"Seriously, what has gotten into you these days?" I asked

"You're always gone when the training is over. Sometimes, you don't even sleep in our dorm. I just wanna know what's going on"

"There's nothing going on," I muttered, putting my hands in the pockets of my leather jacket

"Is this about the third part of the initiation? Are you nervous because you will have to show your fears to the leaders?"

And at that moment, I felt like she was partially right

I was indeed stressed out, but not only for that reason

I might as well go along with it

"I guess. It's just really.."

A sigh escaped her mouth and the frown immediately left her face

It worked

I chuckled

"Don't worry, it will be alright.You're second Sara, I believe in you."

I don't know if she noticed, but her words somehow made me want to run away

She was so honest and a good friend and I was keeping so many things from her

Not only the stuff about Eric, but the fact that I was ranked so high up on the list, was not because I actually deserved it, but only because I happened to be Divergent

"Thank you, Lisa. It means a lot that you do" I said and grinned

She side smiled and we both went to training

"Hey" I said as I approached Dave and Addam outside of the dorm room

They turned to look at me and exchanged looks before turning back to me

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow

"You haven't seen it, have you?" Addam asked

I pushed a strand of my hair out of my face and behind my ear

"Seen what?"

"Go check the board"

I couldn't even believe what I was seeing

Me, first

A grin made its way onto my face

I knew that the rankings could change at any second, but It felt good anyway

I never knew I was so competitive 

"Hey, Congratulations!" Dana said as she stood next to me

I smiled "Thank you"

"So...Leader?"

"I...I don't know yet"
