2. Test

I opened my eyes to realize that I was back at my house

The lights were off but a lot of candles were lit up, placed everywhere around the room

I stood up from my bed, walking around

Shouldn't I not be able to know that I was in a simulation?

Because somehow I did

I had read about that somewhere-why didn't I pay enough attention in class?

I tried to open the lights but it didn't work so I grabbed one of the candles

After some more steps, the candles went off, except for the one I was holding

I took a deep breath

 Nothing can hurt you, this is just a test

I walked ahead in the darkness to find an empty table and placed the candle on top

The sound of something dropping on the ground made me turn around, but there was nothing there

I turned my attention back to the table and realized that on it was a flower

A white rose

I lightly brushed my fingers on top of it and felt the sun on my face, the air blowing through my hair and the smell of the early spring flowers that I always used to pick up as a child

"Take me in your hands and you can always feel like that" I heard a voice say

I could be happy in Amity

But it would never feel like home

I opened my eyes and took the candle from the table, moving away

"No! Please! Stop!" somebody yelled

I turned around to see two men

One was tied on a chair, blood dripping down his forehead and nose

The other one held a gun to his forehead

"You're a traitor!" The man yelled, pressing the gun forcefully on his forehead

"Leave him alone." I found myself saying, some seconds after

Both men turned to look at me

"Walk away little girl" the man growled as the other repeatedly mouthed the word Help me

"Don't hurt him"

"Do you know what crimes he has committed?" the other man angrily asked, suddenly pointing the gun at me

I took some steps forward

"No. But that doesn't give you the right to kill him" I said

"Come on. Don't tell me you have never thought of killing someone," he stated with a smirk, eyebrows raised

"N-No," I mumbled

Why was I lying?

He laughed

"Of course you have." and with that, he pointed the gun towards the man and pulled the trigger

"No!" I screamed and ran, jumping on him without a second thought
