CHAPTER SEVEN; LORI'S PREGNANT
Ember sat by Carl and Lori feeding the ducks, Carl is finally recovered and up walking around again.

"Don't look so worried." Carl says to his mother.

"It's my job." Lori responds to Carl.

"No, it's not. You're a housewife." Carl jokes.

"Carl!" Ember laughs.

"Yeah, punk? You see my house around here?" Lori says, Ember just laughs.

"A housewife." Ember just shakes her head.

"Foolish boys." Ember jokes, Carl and Lori laugh.

Everything goes silent for a minute before Carl says something.

"They don't have a mother." Carl says referring to the chickens.

"She might be somewhere else." Lori replies.

"Maybe she got eaten." Carl says, Ember sighs when he says that.

"Mood killer." She says under her breath.

"Everything is food for something else."

Ember notices Patricia walking away, she seems suspicious.

"Rick I wanna learn how to shoot a gun."

"Is your dad okay with this, Ember?" Rick asks the brunette.

"Well, no."

"I'm not sure I can do that then."

"Come on please, I'm tired of just being useless. I want to be good for something." Ember pleads, when Rick stays silent she hits him with the puppy dog eyes. That always works.

"I'll talk to your father about it."

"You got it." Ember says giving Rick a thumbs up.

"Yes!" Ember screams when she gets the target, thankfully Hershel had agreed to let Ember learn how to shot a gun, it took a lot of begging though.

"Good job, Ember!" Shane yells.

"Thanks dude."

Ember smiles when Carl shoots his target.

"Good job." She says patting him on the back.

"Hey! We got your stuff." Ember hears her sister yell.

"Oh no." Ember sighs running to the scene.

"Maggie, hang on, please." Glenn yells.

"Come on in here." Lori says to Maggie.

"Why? Nothing to hide. We got your special delivery right here. We got your lotion, got your conditioner, your soap opera digest." Maggie throws Lori's stuff down.

"Maggie."

"Next time you want something, get it your damn self.  We're not your errand boys." Maggie yells at Lori.

"Honey, I--"

"And here's your abortion pills." Ember gasps and attempts to chase after her sister but Glenn gently pulls her back.

"I got this." Ember just smiles.

Ember walks over to Lori and comforts her, the older woman gives her a small smile.
