ALL ABOUT THIS TREE HOUSE

The book was very interesting. It described and answered many questions that we had. I enjoyed it.
***THE BOOK***
This tree house, built by Thomas James, was made for 19 people. It was built in 1892. The family that decided to move in was the Klide Family. They moved in in 1893. Their fist child was born in 1900. The parents had 17 kids.
The house had many many rooms. They included dining room, living room, kitchen, 6 bathrooms (4 of which were full baths and 2 were half baths), 19 bedrooms (1 was guest), a library, family room, a sewing room (for mother and daughters to make clothing), a room to store everyone's clothing, a pantry room (to store food for the large family), and a room where the kids had room to play and store their toys.
The 17 kids were treated equal and if they needed anything, it was provided for them.
In 1923 the house got broken into and pretty much all of the family was shot. The 13th born, however survived the shooting by jumping out of a window. She was up late that night reading in the library when she heard the door fling open. As she was about to hop out the window, she heard 2 gun shots. She only had minor injuries after jumping. A few toes were broken and one of her ankles were broken. Even though she acquired these, she ran to the nearest hospital and told the doctors and nurse the whole story. She told them the names of her parents and siblings. Therefore, they called the police. No new family has moved into this house since the murder because it is said that after the girl who survived died, her spirit came back to the house. She now haunts the abandoned home.

I looked up from the book to see Emily still engulfed in it. I finished reading, but she was still knee deep in names and numbers.
I wonder if that haunting really is true.
