Chapter 25

Lexi's POV

"Kurstin, I thought you said your brother wasn't going to be home." Emily said as we walked into Kurstin's house

"I guess he decided not to go to my dad's beach house and party this weekend. Chad! Did you feed Buddy!?" Kurstin yelled

He didn't answer, so Kurstin stormed up her stairs. I followed, curiously, considering I've never met her 17 year old brother. According to my cousin who goes to his high school, and I quote, "he's absolutely positively, hunk-aliscious."

She burst into his room and he ripped off his Beats.

"Chad, did you feed Buddy? Mom said it was your turn."

Oh my Jesus Christ. He was definitely hunk-aliscious.

"Last time I checked, you weren't aloud in my room and yes I fed the stupid thing." Chad said placing his head phones back over his ears

"You heartless little butt! I will rip your insides out and make you eat them for---" I cut Kurstin off

"Kurstin, control yourself." She faked a pout and walked out of the door

Chad brushed his light brown hair out of his eyes and caught my glance. His stormy blue eyes froze me in place for a moment, but that didn't last for long. I slowly backed out of the room and walked back downstairs to Kurstin.

Before I got to the bottom, Chad called my name. He probably heard Kurstin talking to me on Oovoo all the time.

I walked halfway back up the staircase when he started talking.

"I know you liked what you saw." He said and I could almost picture the smirk on his face

I rolled my eyes and continued downstairs.

Well he is good looking, but extremely cocky. My inner voice said to me

"So Kurstin, what do you have planned for our last sleepover before 10th grade starts?" I asked Kurstin when I made it to the others in the kitchen

"Well, we are going to watch This Is The End and we are going to eat popcorn, cookies, chocolate, and any other unhealthy thing you guys can think of. I kind of went shopping before you came over." She replied

"It's going to be so fun!" We all cried at once

"Kurstin, last week it was Tyler and now it's Brayden?!" I squealed, literally boring holes into my friend's head

"Well," Kurstin blushed, "I don't even know anymore."

"You have problems." Emily and I laughed under our breaths. Kurstin's face reached a shade of bright tomato, indicating she was furious.

"D-Do you hear that." Danielle stuttered looking down the hall

We were in Kurstin's family room, currently talking about Kurstin's love life. We were watching the movie, but We decided to take a little break.

"What?" Emily asked looking the corner

There wasn't anything there, at least I don't think there was.

At that moment, Chad came running down the hallway with an empty bag of chips.

I burst out laughing, making everyone, including Chad, glance my way.

"I just needed a chip refill. God, I didn't think I was that hilarious." He said opening up the pantry

"Hey! Chad those are for us!" Kurstin yelled, snatching the bag from his fingers

"Whatever." He said and snatched then back

"Danielle, since when did you become so fidgety." I said patting her head

"S-Since the time when I realized Kurstin's house was haunted."

We all turned around, including the now frightened-to-the-point-where-he-might-pee-his-pants Chad, to see something we hadn't seen in forever.
