Chapter 14

A LOT OF SCREAMING

Lexi's POV

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

When Emily was almost finished, I got up from the couch and walked over to a door. I opened it and received a sudden gust of wind. I quickly shut it because I was starting to shiver.

I soon turned around and started waking back to Emily.

"BOO!" Emily screamed after jumping out from behind a wall. I screamed so loud, in sure I echoed throughout the tree house.

"You suck." I said rubbing my head. It hurt from screaming.

"What? Did you think I was the stupid fake ghost haunting this place?" She said with a smirk

"Maybe..." I said trailing of my sentence

"Your pathetic." She said and quickly turned back around the corner

I soon followed, but when I turned the corner, Emily wasn't there. I went looking all throughout the house. She was no where to be found.

I walked through almost every possible room I could find. I soon stepped into the library which was filled with old, tattered books. There was one thing I did notice that stood out in the library. It was an old, rectangular rug that was place strangely. I lifted it up to find a trap door.

I opened it up and saw stairs and darkness. I took out my phone and shined the light down the stairs. I slowly walked down them and with every creek I winced. It was extremely loud. A normal creek would be the creek in your stairs in your home. These stairs made creeks that could be heard all the way over in China.

As soon as I reached the bottom, I illuminated the room with my flash light app. I scanned the room only to find a few rats and some old wine bottles.

When I turned the corner, the fowl scent of death filled my nostrils. I quickly plugged my nose and shrugged it off.

As I moved my phone throughout the room my breath became became heavier and my heart pounded faster in my chest.

That happened as I noticed who was lying in front of me.

*The song for chapter 14*

There's not enough rain in Oklahoma

To wash the sins out of that house.

There's not enough wind in Oklahoma

To rip the nails out of the past.
