SECRETS LIE WITHIN

Lexi's POV

"Hey Emily?" I asked

"Yea Lex?"

"How would you like to come back at night?"

We walked into the woods at about 10 at night. Honestly, I was completely frightened. I've never been out here at night. I don't know how I'm gonna find my way back.

Emily is following me. I'm leading Emily into a deep dark forest.

I don't know what's gonna jump out at us!

"Hey Lexi, can we go back?" Emily questioned nervously.

"There's no turning back now." I responded

No matter how much I wanted to turn around, I couldn't. I wanted to find out what was hiding in this forest. I wanted to know what was covered by all these trees and brush.

"Can we rest?" Emily whined

"Uh yea I guess." I responded quickly sitting on a rock.

It has to be about midnight by now.

We sat on the rock for about a half an hour. As I got up, Emily followed and we continued deeper into the woods. I grabbed bug spray from within my bag and sprayed myself. I handed it to Emily after and she did the same.

As soon as I didn't hear footsteps behind me anymore, I stopped. I turned around, and Emily wasn't there.

"EMILY!" I yelled

"LEXI!" Was the response I was given.

I walked forward towards the voice. I walked and walked until I stumbled upon a VERY old, abandoned tree house. It sat in the middle of an opened, surrounded by trees. It was HUGE as well.

"EMILY!" I called again

"IM IN THIS GIANT TREE HOUSE THING!" She replied

I climbed up the giant rope ladder into the first room, which had to be the living or family room.

Emily was sitting on an old couch, reading a book.

"It's called The Secrets Lie Within." She said. "It's about this tree house."

I walked over and sat next to her. I tried reading with her, but she pulled the book away.

"Hey! I want to read too! I want to find out more about this place along with who built it."

She motioned for me to sit closer to her. I did and we read the book together.
