It was an early Sunday morning. There was just so much craziness going on in my mind that I need to figure out. I decide to go down to my favorite cafe and just clear my mind and get a distraction out of it. I sit outside sipping my coffee just watching people pass by. Someone catches my eye and walks towards me waving. The closer they come towards me the more I can see their face. It's Dylan.
"Is this seat taken?" he asks.
"It's all yours." I told him," what are you doing here?"
"Just thought I'd take a casual stroll. I smelled the coffee beans and instantly came here." he smiled.
"Yeah this place makes the best coffee. Maybe even better than Starbucks."
"Possible. I've never liked Starbucks." he admits.
"I only go to Starbucks because of their muffins to be honest. They might not have good coffee but their muffins are so good." I told him.
He laughs, "I'll have to try them sometime. Anyways I have to meet Katherine. Here's my number. We should meet up another time." he writes his number down on a napkin.
"Yeah. That'll be nice."
"Well I'll see you around." he waves goodbye and leaves.
I head back home and enter seeing Lauren making pancakes.
"Hey where were you?" she asks.
"I went to the cute cafe on the corner." I told her.
"Oh I've been wanting to go there. How's their coffee?"
"It's really good. Oh and Dylan talked to me for a bit." I casually mention.
"Dylan? Dylan Reed?"
"Yeah."
"The Dylan with the gorgeous brown hair and dreamy blue eyes?" she describes.
"That's the one."
"He's really cute." she giggles.
"Yeah and really nice and kind. He gave me his phone number too." I told her blushing a little bit.
"He gave you his number!?" she seemed shocked.
"Yeah. It's not that big of a deal. He could just be a good friend. I'm not ready for a relationship. It's not like he wants to date me. He has a girlfriend." I told her.
"I don't know it seems possible." she winks.
I let put a tiny laugh," like he'd dump Katherine for me. They've been together since freshmen year. What makes you think he's actually going to ditch her for me?" I asked.
"It's Dylan. Dylan doesn't just give out his phone number." she told me.
"It's a friendly thing to do."
"You are so naïve."
"And I think you are overthinking this."
"Ugh."
Does he like me? I don't think so and I shouldn't let Lauren get in my head. She just wants me to move on from Robbie. I bet she'd try to set me up with anyone. Even if he did like me it's not like anything would happen since I don't like him that way. Nothing will happen between Dylan and I.
