Chapter 2

Old Speedster

Blüdhaven

"This cannot be the future." The Red Suited Man kneeled in the streets looking down at the ground. The city was a desert with buildings. It wasn't how it used to be, where it was peaceful and beautiful looking. "No, no, no! How could this happen? Bruce, Clark, Diana... They would never let this happen."

The Red Suited Man clinched his fists started pounding the dirty ground. Tears were running down his face. The Red Suited Man's gloves were getting dirty, turning black. The Red Suited Man put his hands on his face as two tanks and twenty four soldiers holding assault rifles and wearing a Reverse Lightning Bolt emblem approached him.

These soldiers were huge and muscular. They could probably lift a ton. They wore black vests and protection that covered their whole bodies. No skin was exposed, not even the soldiers' faces. The tanks were light grey and armored. They looked like they could with stand a nuclear blast. The tanks had two cannons in the front of the wheels and a port in the center where soldiers controlled it and drove it.

"You there! What are you doing out here? It's past the city's curfew." A soldier commander told The Red Suited Man.

The Red Suited Man looked up at the soldier commander with anger. He saw the commander's goggles and ski mask. Behind the commander were damaged liquor stores and dusty cars with no windows. Lightning flashed in the Red Suited Man eyes. The Red Suited Man's body started vibrating. The soldiers aimed their assault rifles at him. They were ready to fire. They felt threatened, it seemed like they had seen this kinda of power before.

"Stand down!" The soldier commander ordered. "We will shoot!"

Rooftops

Diana and Jason were watching The Red Suited Man from the rooftop of an abandoned building that was about twenty five feet high. They viewed him with binoculars.

The Red Suited Man ran faster than sound and he wasn't running at his speed too. The Red Suited Man threw the commander at two soldiers who started firing at him. The Red Suited Man ran past twelve soldiers and took their assault rifles out of their hands. The Red Suited Man then dismantled all twelve of them in under ten seconds. He dropped the parts on the floor and socked all the unarmed soldiers in the jaw to knock them down.

"Maybe we should help him." Diana told Jason while watch the Red Suited Man smash two of the heads of the soldiers together.

Jason saw a soldier on the setting up a sniper rifle on a rooftop two buildings away. Jason fired his gun at the soldier's head killing him. Jason didn't have any moral code against killing, no one did. This dystopia change everyone.

"Helped him." Jason smirked.

The tanks started firing mortars at The Red Suited Man. The Red Suited Man dodged every shot with ease as the mortars created explosions and holes in the ground. Dust flew everywhere, blinding the foot soldiers' visions.

The Red Suited Man grabbed two of the soldiers by the vest and slammed them on the ground. The Red Suited Man then threw three soldiers into the tanks. One more soldier was left. The Red Suited Man stopped using his superhuman speed and walked up to the final soldier and punched him in the face. He then kneed the soldier in the stomach and pushed him over.

The Red Suited Man finished off the soldiers and hijacked the two tanks that were firing at him. The Red Suited Man delivered blows to the faces of soldiers piloting the tanks, knocking them out. He threw them out of the tanks. After, the Red Suited Man vibrated his body through the tanks and blew them up.

The Red Suited Man removed his mask revealing his face. The Red Suited Man was in his thirties and had short, blonde hair. He had a dark scar under his eye and dimples on both cheeks.

"My god." Diana said, "It's him, it's Barry."
