Chapter 18

Situation

Abandoned US Army Base

Zod had called Barry, Diana, Lord Superman, Lex, and Terry to the situation room. The situation room had a large, circular desk in the middle of it with chairs spread about ten feet apart. There were six chairs for each person at the table.

"As you should know, Thawne is in Metropolis. I have called this meeting to discuss whether or not we should attack him." Zod stated, "If we attack him, we risk getting captured but if we don't, we sacrifice an opportunity."

"I say we attack him." Lex told his ideas to everyone in the room, "We won't get many opportunities like these and we have the upper hand. Thawne is on our land."

"While that is true, why don't we just attack the Fortress of Solitude? Thawne won't expect us." Lord Superman asked Lex.

"Because we'd be going in blind. We don't know how much the Fortress has changed. Going in would be moronic, it should be our last choice." Lex said.

"Watch your words Lex, I killed you on my earth, I'll kill you here." Lord Superman snarled.

"Do you want to fight me Kal!?" Lex yelled as he walked up to Lord Superman in his Exo suit and pushed him into a wall. "I'm not like the Lex Luthor you killed! I'm stronger, smarter, and faster, even in my old age."

Lord Superman swung his arm towards Lex's jaw, hitting it but not breaking it. "I don't care if you're not like him. I killed people stronger than you Lex, you won't be a problem."

Barry ran in the middle of Lex and Lord Superman, "How about we not fight each other? We're on the same side."

"He's right." Terry said, "And if Lex wants to try and take on Thawne, let him do it."

"No, he's not going alone." Diana said.

"Bring a squad of seven of my best soldiers. Flank Thawne and his squad, take Thawne out first. My scouts are telling me he's at the Daily Planet, investigating a soldier's death." Zod commanded Luthor.

"You want to lead seven of your best soldiers into suicide?" Diana questioned her son.

"My soldiers aren't like the Mutants. They went through actual training. They're smart and strong, on and off the battlefield." Zod informed his mother. "They were trained to fight Thawne's army for years. They will beat a small portion of them."

"Maybe I should go too. I could handle Thawne's soldiers the best here, I'm the strongest. Luthor needs me." Barry said.

"I'd rethink that if I statement if I were you." Lord Superman smirked.

"If you're the strongest, there's no reason why you should be going with Lex. We can't have you die in battle. And not only that, we need to you go back in time after we defeat Thawne, it would be stupid to send you in." Diana told Barry.

"Except, I'm the fastest one here. I'm the closest one who could go toe to toe with Thawne." Barry replied.

"The problem is though, is we don't know how fast Thawne truly is." Terry said.

"You don't know how fast I am either. I'm going." Barry stated.

"No, as your leader-," Diana couldn't finish.

"Let him do what he wants. I have confidence that he will be able to take Thawne on. Thawne doesn't know him but Barry knows Thawne. Barry has the upper hand." Zod told his mother.

"So it's settled? I'm bringing Barry and seven soldiers to take on Thawne and his army?" Lex asked.

"Correct." Zod told Lex, "You'll leave in an hour."

Lord Superman walked up to Lex and whispered in his ear, "I hope you die."

"You'll be disappointed." Lex laughed and walked away with Barry to gather seven of Zod's soldiers.
