Chapter 9

We're All Criminals

Invisible Jet

Barry, Diana, Lex, and Terry watched from the Invisible Jet as the Batcave exploded into flames. The inside of Invisible Jet was opaque unlike the outside which was transparent. They were about ten miles away from the Batcave but it was still visible, or what was left of it was still visible. Terry was the one who affected the most, Jason had taught him how to move from the past, from loses of the past.

"Nooooo!" Terry cried. "No, no, no he can't be dead."

"Terry..." Diana put her hand on Terry's shoulder, "I'm so sorry."

Terry shrugged off Diana's hand and turned around towards her, "This is your's and Thawne's fault! It should've been you back there, not him. You should've sacrificed yourself, you're the leader!"

"Terry, I couldn't-," Diana couldn't finish her sentence.

"You couldn't what? Stop him? You're supposed to be in control! You're our leader! It's time for you to step down." Terry gave his two cents about Diana.

"I'm sorry Terry, I know I'm not the strongest leader but we need to stick together here." Diana commanded.

"How the hell are we supposed to stick together if we have a leader who can't do shit?!" Terry questioned, "I've tried to be on your side Diana. I tried defending you against Jason's and Lex's points of view but I can't anymore. Jason shouldn't have died, he didn't have to but you let it happen." Terry walked to the back of the jet, alone. He wanted to be alone.

"I'll go talk to him." Lex told Diana as he walked to the back of jet leaving Barry and Diana.

"Is this how it always is?" Barry asked Diana.

"No, not always. We've lost friends, allies, in the past but we're getting to a point where we can't afford that. I don't blame Terry for the way he thinks, in fact I agree, we do need a new leader. Who will though?" Diana asked. "Lex won't, Terry can't."

"Diana, I believe that you can lead but you need to take leadership. You need to prepare everyone better. We didn't even have a plan when Thawne came to attack." Barry replied. "The consequence of that was losing Jason."

"I know Barry." Diana knew what happened, she felt it.

Back of the plane

Lex went to the back of the plane to see Terry sitting on a bench with his hands over his mask. Lex went over and sat next to Terry on the bench. Lex but his hand on Terry's shoulder.

"Terry, we have to move on. We need to be ready to attack." Lex said.

"I know Lex, you taught me that, something Diana couldn't. You taught me more than her, you taught me how to hack into Thawne's soldiers communications, you even taught me how to upgrade my suit if I wanted to. A leader should teach, something Diana doesn't." Terry grunted, "You should lead, you should take over."

"No Terry, I can't. I'm not as fit to lead as she is." Lex replied.

"You're joking right?" Terry laughed.

"No, I'm not. She's been a hero longer than me, defending this world longer than me. Not only that, she's led an island full of Warriors, she led it well too. I agree we need a new leader but I'm not that new leader." Lex said.

"Please tell me where those island's Warrior are now." Terry commanded. "You're the man we need to lead Lex. You were a successful businessman and the President of the United States. While you were President, you ended all wars involving the US and it's allies."

"No Terry, I can't. I have a bad history, I was a criminal." Lex walked away back to the front of the jet.

"We're all criminals Lex, we always have been." Terry said. "The only difference is what crimes we've committed and if we can put those crimes behind us to do the right thing."
