Beautiful Lie

Barry ran back to Terry and Diana to find Diana holding Zod's dead body in her hands. Diana was crying and Terry was staring down at the ground, letting out tears too. They were his mentors at on point in his life. A master should never see their apprentice die. There were also unconscious soldiers lying down all over the place.

"My god..." Barry said as he ran in the room. "Zod..."

"He was a warrior, a brave warrior." Diana cried. "Did you defeat Thawne?"

"I-I can't." Barry stuttered.

"Why!?" Terry questioned as his face turned towards Barry.

"He has Iris, he has her from the year 2018." Barry informed. "He says if I don't do what he says he's going to kill her."

"How'd he get her? He's not some time traveler like you is he?" Diana asked.

"He is. That's not how he got her though. He has friends, friends who are time travelers. He's always hundreds of steps ahead of us. I-I can't beat him." Barry told his friends.

"What do you need to do?" Terry said to Barry wanting to help.

"We'll help." Diana reassured Barry that Iris was going to be alright.

"I have to kill you both." Barry answered. "It's all been a lie, a beautiful lie. Every bad thing that's happened in my life has been because of him. He's been causing every bad thing. He was the one who sent me here, he was the one who killed my mother. I don't know what to do."

"Do it Barry." Diana commanded Barry. "Reset the timeline after this, save Iris. You taught us how to be heroes again, it's time for us to repay you."

"We'll be fine Barry. You see us again." Terry told Barry. "Take our speed, you'll need it."

"No, I can't. It's not right." Barry didn't want to kill his friends.

"Yes it is. Iris is innocent, she deserves to live." Diana said. "You need to do it Barry."

"I'm so sorry." Barry cried. Barry put his hands on Diana's and Terry's chest and yellow lightning traveled from Diana's and Terry's bodies to Barry's.

"It's alright. We will see you soon." Terry replied as Barry vibrated his hands in Diana's and Terry's chest to stop their hearts. They died painlessly.

Barry lied down Diana's and Terry's bodies and fell on his knees. Snow had popped from off the ground and onto Barry's knees. Thawne had won, Barry was truly broken.
