Truth

Abandoned US Army Base

Barry ran back to the abandoned US Army Base to meet Diana, Terry, Zod, and Lord Superman. Zod was crossing his arms as he stared down at Barry, wondering where Lex was.

"Lex... Did he not make it?" Diana asked softly.

"No..." Barry sighed, look at the ground.

"I knew he wouldn't make it." Lord Superman laughed, "He was weak and useless."

Diana punched Lord Superman in the face, sending him to the ground. "He was more useful than you, arrogant coward."

"We need to move on." Zod stated. "We know where Thawne's Base is. I say we attack it."

"Speaking of Thawne, what's the real story?! How did he actually come to power?!" Barry questioned.

"The world was corrupt." Terry started off, "Political leaders were bloodthirsty for power, they were will to kill to get it. Thawne was innocent at the time, all he wanted to do was get back home. He became a hitman for the corrupt. They promised him a way back home but never gave it to him. Eventually he was able to kill every political leader, leaving the world at risk. Thawne took over after that."

"Lex... He was the President?" Barry asked.

"Yes and the only person not corrupt. Out of all people, Lex Luthor was the only political leader who was clean." Diana said. "He broke promises though. He promised Thawne a way back home but never gave it to him after seeing what he had become."

"Thawne told me the same story." Barry said, "All of had to be involved somehow. What happened with all of you?"

"The Justice League weren't looked at as heroes. We didn't interfere. We couldn't get involved. We would be hunted by National Governments if we did." Terry explained.

"You didn't do anything!?" Barry shouted, "You could've prevented this all! You had a chance to stop all of this from happening but you didn't take it because you were scared? I realize it now, none of you are good people. You're all cowards." Barry fell on his knees and looked at Diana. "Bruce and Clark, were they alive? Did they change too?"

"No..." Diana said sadly. "They were gone."

"I can't believe this is really how you led them Diana. We're better than this. You let this happen. You're as bad as Thawne- No, you're worse!" Barry yelled at his old friend.

"Barry, we need to kill Thawne and change the past." Zod said.

"No, I won't. He doesn't need to be killed. He doesn't deserve it." Barry replied, "I'll find another way."
