"I knew we should've done that fucking homework!" I mutter quietly to Ed.
"Oh well. What's done is done. Can't change it now." Ed acknowledged.
"I guess so." I agreed.
Ed and I were stuck in detention for failing to do our maths homework. We had a whole hour left in this classroom of boredom.
There were 7 of us altogether in the detention. Our maths teacher was sitting at the desk located at the front of the class.
"Come on miss! Let us go!" a lad at the back of the class pleaded.
"Be quiet Josh, its not my fault you didn't do your homework." Mrs Grainger told the disobideant pupil.
"Well it ain't my fault innit. I did do it right but my gran yeah she erm she had to erm..." he trailed off.
"Sit down and shut up." she told him.
"Bitch." he whispered under his breath so she couldn't hear him.
"Yo Ed man!" Josh yelled to Ed.
"What?!" Ed looked back to Josh.
"Hi." Josh grinned.
"Weirdo." Ed commented in a jokey way, indicating they were friends.
"Ed man? I thought we were detention buddies why you not sitting with me?" Josh said.
"Yeah Ed man!" another lad added.
I giggled a bit. They way they talked to Ed was just funny to me for some reason.
"Ed's my detention buddy now, innit Ed man?" I mimick Josh's tone and choice of words.
"And who are you?" Josh looked surprised.
"This is Jessica." Ed introduced.
"So its hoes before bro's now, is it?" Josh smiled.
"She isn't my hoe!" Ed said defensively.
"So you both ain't going out?" Josh asked.
"Erm..." Ed started.
"Yeah we are acctually." I confidently told him.
Shit! Why did I just say that? Ed will probably run a mile now.
"You and Ed?" Josh seemed surprised.
"Yep. She's my girlfriend." Ed said to my surprise. Phew! I thought I just fucked it up then.
"Cool. You both look cute together." Josh weirdly commented.
"Thanks Josh." Ed thanked.
"Come on now, you are all being too loud. Quiet down. I'm just going for a few minutes. I won't be long." Mrs Grainger informed the class then left the room.
"Now, we leave!" Josh yelled for the whole room to hear.
"What? Leave detention?" I asked.
"Hell yeah! I ain't spending another 50 minutes in this hell hole." Josh said.
By now everyone had snuck out of the detention room and it was just Ed, Josh and I left.
"Come on, quick before she comes back." Josh got his bag and fled the class.
Ed had his bag slung over his shoulder and handed me my bag.
"Wont we get a longer detention though?" I asked whilst exiting the classroom.
"Nope. If any of the teachers find out Mrs Grainger lost her whole detention class, she would be in deep trouble. To prevent that from happening she will just pretend everyone did the detention to save her back. Plus, she did leave us unattended." Ed told me.
We fled out of school and onto the street. I had never done that before and it felt awesome.
Ed started smiling at me.
"What?" I asked oblivous as to why he was staring and grinning.
"So we are boyfriend and girlfriend are we now?" he grinned.
"I guess we are." I smiled.
"Great. Come on girlfriend, lets go home." he told me, emphasising on the word 'girlfriend'.
"Alright boyfriend," I said also emphasising on the word 'boyfriend'.
He grabbed my hand and held it softly swinging it in the air. He held his hand up, indicating that I should twirl. I spinned around under his arm like it was a shelter from all the wrong in the world.
Oh gosh! I think I'm in love with Ed Sheeran. The scariest thing was... I think he loves me too!
