"Wow." I stared at myself in the mirror almost speechless.

"Thanks. I know I'm just amazing." Lorna, a girl at the home, said.

She had spent the last half an hour doing my hair and picking me out a dress to wear for the dance.

My golden blonde hair was in loose curls and I was wearing a baby blue dress which brought out my glistening blue eyes. The only make-up I had on was lip gloss if that counted. For once, I acctually felt pretty.

"Lorna you are going to become a brilliant stylist one day. I can't believe you did this all on your own." I complimented her stunning work.

"I'm just awesome, I know. Ed isn't gonna know what hit him." Lorna smiled.

"You think?"

"I know." Lorna smiled.

There was a knock on the door of Lorna's room.

"Who is it?" Lorna asked.

"Its Ed, is Jess ready?" Ed sounded nervous.

"Yeah wait." Lorna stood up and raced to the door. She opened it slowly for Ed to come in.

Ed stood there staring at me with his mouth wide open.

"You look...beautiful." he managed to breath out.

"Thanks, so do you." I smiled at him.

He was wearing a black tux, but his hair was still a ginger mess. I could tell he put a lot of effort into his appearance for once which made me smile. He made this effort just for me.

He had something poking out from behind him. He saw my gaze and revealed a gorgeous buquet of flowers.

"For you my lady." Ed put on a posh voice.

"Aww Ed they're stunning." I took them out of his hands and felt their sweet scent travel up my nostrils.

"Shall we go?" Ed held out his arm. I took it and said:

"Yep, come on."

As the dance was going to be held at school, we decided to walk it there. It was so nice. The bright, glistening moon light was the beam that lit our way to school in the darkness of the night. A few twinkling stars shone like little sparks in the pitch black sky.

Ed and I walked hand in hand taking in the beautiful night letting it all sink in.

"Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you?" I lightly sang.

"You remembered the lyric from our first music lesson?" Ed seemed surprised but happy at the same time.

"Yeah, that song autumn leaves was fabulous." I complimented.

Just like that an autumn leaf fell from the tree above us. It was like the universe was telling us something.

We had arrived at school and music was blaring out from the hall. We entered the hall and saw a sea of people dancing terribly.

"Come on Ed, let's dance!" I excitedly told him.

"I don't really dance so I'll just watch you." Ed said.

"Ed! You're dancing with me." I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the dance floor.

We danced awfully to the next three songs then got something to drink.

"You and Ed look so adorable!" Georgia came racing towards us with Jake trailing behind.

"Sup Ed." Jake greeted Ed.
