"Okay, your turn." I faced him and raised my eyebrows. I was eager to learn of this Ex of his. My doppelgänger.

Matt laid beside me across the blanket, raised his arms and placed his hands at the back of his head. He closed his eyes and smiled.

"My last relationship was with a girl named Tara. We met at a bar downtown one drunken night. We dated for about 2 weeks before things just fizzled out and we decided to part ways. Amicably."

Not exactly what I was expecting. Saying his revelation was a bit of a let down was an understatement.

I was thoroughly confused, was he still pining for this Tara?. If things just fizzled out, why was he in the library staring at me and not fighting to get her back?

Matt opened one eye and looked up at me. "What? No sassy comment?" He laughed.

"Well, with the amount of time you spent staring at me, I thought you guys would have been together longer." I mused. "So you're telling me somewhere in this town is a girl that looks like me?" I asked.

He opened his eyes and he looked utterly confused. " I never said that Tara was the girl I was reminded of when I look at you"

Okay, you know what they say about when you assume? Yup. It makes an ass out of me and U.

"Well, I'm more interested in knowing about my twin than your latest fling." I said. "Besides, that doesn't count. 2 weeks is too short for it to be called a relationship." I rolled my eyes at him and looked away.

"Well, It does in my book." He shrugged. " I met her parents and attended a family gathering. During which said event, I was introduced as her boyfriend. So, yeah, I'd definitely count it as a relationship." He sounded very smug.

"Whatever." I dismissed him and watched the children run about in the grass.

"So why did you and Miss Tara didn't work out?" I asked. " And No, saying 'It just fizzled out' isn't an acceptable answer." I lifted my hands and did air quotation marks for further effect.

"What we had was purely lust driven. I didn't really see myself falling in love with her." He explained. "Don't get me wrong, the sex was great, but the conversation was extremely lacking. I didn't want to string her along"

"Well, aren't you the gentleman." my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"At least I was being honest"

I leaned back on the tree, stretched my legs in front of me and sighed. Yes, he did have a point.

"okay, enough about relationships" He said and rolled onto his side and looked at me.

" You started it." I looked at him and smirked. I realized he was not going to tell me about this twin of mine anytime soon. Unfortunately enough for him, I don't give up too easily.

"you know, you still haven't told me who I remind you of.." I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"well, I never promised I would." He rolled over and stood up. He stretched out a hand to me. "come on, let's go to the fair."

"Well, then it's a good thing I didn't tell you the entire break up story of me and Bryan" I grinned. A little blackmail never hurt anybody, right?
