ALEXIS'S P.O.V.

*Jeez Alexis, what the hell happened? * The amount of shock present in Derek's mental voice was unbelievable. *I told you I was going to meet my parents and the Council tonight, didn't I Derek? Well, they also considered that today was my first day as Luna.* He seemed to freeze mentally, if that's even possible. *Can you meet me at the pack spot?* Well, it wasn't as if he'd attack me or anything like that, even if he did want to, which I very much doubted. I was his Luna after all. *Going.*

I opened my window and looked around, making sure that there was no one outside that could see me. That happened in nine out of ten of the were stories I read, so it'd better work in real life as well. Praying that I wouldn't accidentally suicide, I flung myself out. The air rushed past me, but everything seemed to be in slow motion. It was amazing. I shifted while I fell, landing on my four soft paws and immediately sprinting towards the woods.

I got to the clearing where we had the meeting in the afternoon almost at the same time Derek did. His eyes widened in disbelief and shock as he approached me, so I shifted back to my human form to talk to him. "What?"

He shifted too, almost as fast as I had. Coming to think of it, no one else in my pack could do it that quickly. Luna cleared my doubt before I could even ask, at the same time Derek answered my annoyed question. *The more powerful you and your wolf are, the faster you can shift.* "You smell different... like a very, very powerful Luna, Alexis. Honestly, the power aura around you is so strong it's not very far from being visible." He sniffed the air. Quite a weird scene actually. "Whoa, even in your human form, it's just as strong! What happened?"

I smiled at him, stretching out my arm so that he could see the rather large black Alpha my father had tattooed on my wrist. He gasped before taking a closer look. "Alex... can that by any chance have been drawn with... werewolf blood?"

I laughed at his shocked and disgusted tone. "Yup. Dad's pack's, my pack's and the Council's. I'm pretty sure YOUR blood is in there. I thought everyone knew what they were going to do with the blood they asked you all for."

That was when it finally seemed to click in his mind. "That's the blood we all gave the council yesterday? I thought it was just for, I don't know... cataloguing or something." I laughed again. I mean, what use would there be for cataloguing when we were all connected through our minds? "Anyway, never mind that... It was a surprise, that's all. You wanna go for a run?"

At least he had dropped it quickly. I wasn't really in the mood to explain to him everything. I shook my head and geve him an apologetic smile. "No, not tonight, sorry. I've gotta catch up on my sleep if I don't want to fall asleep in front of the whole pack tomorrow."

He looked disappointed. “Oh well. See you tomorrow at school then, I guess.”

Again, I laughed at him. *Mean, Alexis.* “No need to sound so let down, Derek, it’s just a run. See you around.” *Shut up, Luna, I need to have some fun sometimes.* Still laughing, I turned around and walked away without looking back, shifting mid-stride and running back home. Derek had had a kind of a crush on me for some time, a crush I had always ignored. I couldn’t deny it was really entertaining sometimes, though.

I heard him shift too, but decided to just block out everyone’s thoughts for that night. I was exhausted, and totally not in the mood to answer anybody’s questions about this new ‘power aura’ I apparently had now. I wanted to sleep, and I wouldn’t let anyone at all spoil that.

I woke up feeling rested and restored, ready for a new day. It was easy to get up and ready for school when I was feeling this well. I whistled a cheerful tune to myself while I got ready, feeling happier than I had felt in a long time.
