ALEXIS’S P.O.V.
My plan of getting close to my mate was going better than expected. In less than a week – considering I had started school on a Tuesday – I had already become the closest friend he had ever had. Also, Luna had managed to put his wolf on our side, so that he would ignore the weird stuff, like the fact I had stalked him. Our routine had become really easy to follow. We talked about absolutely everything before and after the classes, had lunch together, and everything. He even waited for me outside the girls’ changing room after the P.E. classes.
On the last class we had together on Friday, though, he seemed to get nervous, picking my curiosity. I was itching to ask what had gotten him on edge. I chose not to, though, waiting for a while before he decided to speak. “Uh… Alex… do you wanna go out tonight? We could go get dinner or something…” His voice got lower and lower as he trailed off, blushing.
I flashed him a huge grin, shaking my head. “Sure. But you need to work on your self-esteem, you know. And on your confidence.” I chuckled at the happily shocked look he displayed when I said yes so unthinkingly. As if I’d brush him off.
He took a moment to get over it. “So, uh… I’ll pick you up at seven?”
I shook my head again, amused. That was a seriously insecure mate I had gotten. “Seven’d be great. If you’re not that nervous, that is. And my address is…” I took his notebook from him and scribbled my temporary address on a random corner.
I ran home in an ecstatic frenzy, just after leaving the gym and saying bye to my mate. “Big bro, big bro, big broooooo!!! Guess what? I have a date with my mate!!!” he showed up out of the blue in front of me and hugged me, laughing his head off at my excitement. Thinking about it, in that moment I kind of wished I had called Kate to help me, and not him. *Hey! I heard that!*
I hadn’t meant to let him hear that, but I wouldn’t apologise. Anyone should know I was way too stubborn for that. “Well, it’s not like you can help me choose an outfit or something like that, right? I was just thinking about how much easier it would be if I had a girly girl to help me instead of a boy.”
He smirked at me, raising his eyebrow. “That right there, little sister, is where you’re wrong. Being a man, I think I’d know better than Kate what you should wear to get your mate on his knees.”
I hadn’t missed his stress on the word man, but I ignored it, looking questioningly at him. I hadn’t really thought about it from that angle. His smirk got wider as he used his wolf speed to knock me off my feet and throw me over his shoulder. I yelped in surprise, and then started giggling like crazy when he sat me down on my bed. “Shouldn’t you have to ask for my permission before breaking into my bedroom like that, Derek?”
He was already going through the stuff in my closet, and didn’t turn around to answer. “”Nah, where would be the fun in that?” I laughed with him; the thought of the date had me going hyper. That was so weird. He threw a dress on the bed, and I stared at it in wonder. I had to admit he was right. It was perfect. After snapping out of it, I kicked him out of the room and started to get ready.
A couple of hours later, I walked back into the living room, where he was watching TV, in the tight olive green dress which reached the middle of my thigh and had a single half-long sleeve, and simple black stilettos. I left my hair fall naturally straight down my back and applied only a little bit of makeup. To complete my look, I had only the necklace I never took off, with the two pendants of a flourished A and a tiny wolf.
Derek’s eyes widened when he tore them away from the TV to focus on me. “Bloody Hell, Alexis! Even my Big Brother Feelings are kinda confused right now!”
I smiled at him, knowing he was only half joking. “Yeah, yeah. Now you disappear. He’ll be here in a minute.” He glared at me, but went into his bedroom. Not without slamming the door. “SO mature of you, Beta!” I called after him, but he didn’t bother answering. Not that I blamed him for that.
I had just closed my purse after putting my mobile and wallet in it when I heard a knock at the door. I opened it up with a grin and warmed up inside when I saw his eyes change from the usual blue to a vibrant green as his wolf showed through. “Wow, Ally…” he seemed at a loss for words, but I understood the compliment. I could say he looked awesome too, but that wouldn’t be fair, since I wouldn’t be talking about his outfit. Actually, it would be more true without them. *ALEXIS WOLFE! STOP THOSE INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON’T WANT ME TO GO THERE AND KICK HIS ASS!*

So... I know this is short, but I want their date to be the Christmas present, that's why I stopped here. I must say I love Derek acting like a big bro. :)
Anyway... I'd love to see some COMMENTS, votes, anything, since I'm working so hard this week :P
