Congratulations Fred!!! After 41 guesses, you finally got it right!

So, this is the BONUS CHAPTER, in Bruno's P.O.V. I'll get back to the main plot as soon as I finish typing the next chapter.

BRUNO’S P.O.V.

I sat on the bed and stared out the window at the crescent moon, letting that awful hopeless feeling wash over me. I had spent YEARS searching every little village on the northern part of the planet, and I hadn’t found what I was looking for. I was nearing the point of giving up.

I buried my face in my hands and let the tears of frustration run free. That’s when I had a flashback of a moment five years before. I had forgotten that scene, but on that moment, for an unknown reason, it came back.

-Flashback-

I rubbed the mark on my neck, staring at the Demon who had given it to me. “What the Hell was that for, Sasha?!”

She smiled at me, as if she knew something I didn’t. Which, of course, she did. “Go on with your plan Bruno. It’s not time to help you yet. But, when you give up all hope, remember me.”

I huffed impatiently. “I’ll always remember the only friendly demon on Earth. But I don’t understand why you can’t help me right now. And I sure as hell don’t see the point of you MARKING me!”

She chuckled lightly. I had always thought she was way too happy to be a demon. “Because your plan won’t work, and I’m not in a position in which I can help you right now. My mark will be one of the things that will ensure you succeed. In some years, not now.”

I rolled my eyes. “I hope you’re wrong. But if you’re not, how do you expect me to find you when I ‘give up all hope’? It’s not like you’re easy to track. And trust me, I tried.”

She frowned slightly. “When did you try to track me?”

I scratched the back of my head. I wasn’t supposed to let her know that. I sounded a lot like a freaky stalker. “Last time you left. You keep telling me I’m your only friend, but I don’t think you realized you are mine too. But you didn’t answer my question.”

She laughed, shaking her head. “It’s much easier for you to make friends than for me. You don’t have the extra drawback of belonging to a race that’s supposed to come straight from hell. And I was going to get to that.”

I chuckled as well. I should have known better than try and make her tell me everything faster. She had always been too patient, and done things at her own time. “Yeah, but I have the extra drawback of belonging to a race that’s supposed to be extinct. So, how?”

She thought about it for a moment. “I guess you’re right. But you don’t have to tell people what you are. And they SMELL me straight away.” She nodded, and I raised my eyebrows, trying to make her continue. “Fine, impatient thing!” she reached into her back pocket and pulled out a thick black envelope. “I need you to promise me you won’t open this until you get to the point of giving up completely.”

I nodded, knowing she wouldn’t ask me that if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. “I promise.” She nodded, sighing, and handed me the envelope. That was when I realized that there was only one reason why she would be giving me that. Her obvious wish to take things slowly and sadness only confirmed that. “You’re really going away this time, aren’t you? I won’t see you again.”

She smiled sadly at me. “I’m sure you are going to see me again. But yes, I’m really going away this time. I’m not coming after you again, and you have already found out I can be pretty hard to track. You’re on your own now, at least for a few years. As much as that hurts me, it needs to happen.”
