I just think the song on the side has everything to do with this chapter. :)

Well, read away.

ALEXIS’S P.O.V.

*Will you tell him about you being a were today, then?* I could sense Derek nearby, in the woods, but I knew he wouldn’t intervene unless I told him to. *Yeah. I have to, don’t I?* I knew my Beta could feel my frustration, but he didn’t comment on it, for what I was grateful. *I’m right here if you need me.* I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. *Thanks.*

Just then, there was a knock on the door, and I sighed again. Time to do what had to be done. I put a smile on my face as I went to open the door to my mate. After I saw him, it wasn’t hard to keep the smile there. Just being around him always made me happy. “Hey Ally.”

I warmed up inside to the sound of my nickname, like I always did, even if I was still worried. “Hey… we need to talk. Walk with me?” I took his hand unthinkingly. As usual, his touch sent sparks through my body and calmed me at the same time. Those two things shouldn’t even happen together, but they did. I pulled him out the backdoor and into the woods that started behind the house. As I did so, I sent a warning thought to Derek. *Don’t you let him see you yet.* he didn’t answer, but I knew he didn’t have to.

I walked hand in hand with Anthony until the trees covered us from any unwanted eyes… and ears, even though I could feel him getting tenser as we went further into the woods. I only stopped when we couldn’t even see my house anymore. *Luna, I need you.* I knew she’d be there for me one way or the other, but I still needed to say it. I took a deep breath and turned around to face my mate’s blue eyes again. Damn, that guy was perfect. Even if he did look nervous.

All I wanted to do was wrap my arms around him and comfort him and tell him everything would be okay, but I couldn’t. I had to focus. “Tony… I brought you here because I need to tell you a lot, and no one else here can know about it. I really think you won’t believe me, but please, just listen to me.” he nodded, frowning slightly. I just wanted to know what was in his mind so bad. “I… I… oh, what the hell. I give up trying to make this sound any less weird. I’m a werewolf, Anthony.”

His eyes widened, and he looked around. I saw him gulp when he realized just how far away from the house we were. *Ouch!* Luna and I shared that pain. He was AFRAID of me. I had kind of expected that, but it hurt anyway. My own mate was afraid of me. My voice came out as a ragged whisper. “I knew you’d try to run away. Go ahead, I won’t chase you. But you don’t need to be afraid of me either. We’re not the monsters they claim us to be.”

Regret crossed his face when he heard my voice and saw my hurt expression. Before I knew it, he had his arms around me. I was always surprised by how much of his werewolf powers he had mastered. “I’m sorry Ally. I really am. I told you I’m not going anywhere without you. It was just a bit of a shock.”

Just the sound of his voice was enough to make me smile again. “Thanks Tony. Really. It would kill me if you walked away. It really would. That wasn’t all I wanted to tell you, by the way. How much do you know about shifters… or werewolves, whatever?”

He thought about it for a moment, pulling me, still in his arms, to the damp floor. “Not much. Just the horror legend everybody knows and that Twilight crap you made me watch. Why?”

I grinned to myself. “I knew making you watch New Moon would be useful. You know enough to start off. Enough to understand what I mean when I tell you I’m the Alpha Female, of my pack.”
