Dean's POV
I stood outside Uriel's apartment door and I knocked. A man answered the door a minute later. He was taller than me, was dark, and seems intimidating."Hello?" The man spoke in a deep voice.
"Hello sir, I'm Dean Winchester."
"Hello Dean Winchester, I'm Uriel Thomas."
"Nice to meet you, may I please come in?"
"Yes, of course."
"Thank you, sir." I was trying to sound confident.
I walked in and Uriel shut the door behind him.
"Please, have a seat." I nodded and sat down.
"What would you like to drink?"
"Just water, please. Thank you." He nodded and went into the kitchen.
I looked around the family room and he had a bookshelf full of books. There were books about Shakespeare, science, history, and any other book you can think of.
"Here you go, Dean."
"Thank you, sir. Do you read?" I asked gesturing towards the bookshelf.
"Yes. I love reading. I read whenever I have time. My favorites are the Shakespeare ones. Do you read?"
"I'm sorry, but no. I don't read."
"What do you do in your free time then, Dean?"
"I spend time with Castiel."
"Oh, you know Castiel. Tell me, how is he doing?"
"He's doing good, sir. He's happy."
"Has he found his soulmate yet?"
"Yes, indeed he has. That's why I'm here. I'm his soulmate, sir."
"Well, congratulations. How long have you two been together?"
The response took me by surprise. So, Balthazar was against him being gay but, Uriel excepted him for who he is?
"You except Castiel for who he is?"
"Of course, he's family. Family is supposed to except one for who they are." He smiled. I smiled back.
"Well, that's good that you except him for who he is. To answer your question, we've been together for 6 years."
"Congratulations Dean. You're very lucky to be Castiel's soulmate. So Dean, tell me about yourself?"
"Thank you, sir. I know I'm very lucky to have Castiel in my life. He's a wonderful person."
"He really is."
"Well, my parents died when I was 15. I have a brother Sam, I'm Castiel's soulmate, and I work at a car repair shop that I just got a few days ago."
"Congratulations on your new job, Dean."
"Thank you, Uriel." I smiled and took a sip of my water.
"So, how did you find out where I lived?"
"I asked Gabriel."
"So, what brings you here?"
"Well, I was going to ask you something."
"Which is?"
"Recently I've been thinking about how much Castiel and I love each other and now, I want to marry him. I came here to ask you if I can have Castiel's hand in marriage."
"Yes. You have my permission for Castiel's hand in marriage."
I smiled happily. "Thank you so much, sir. I love Castiel a lot. I promise to take care of him and love him forever and always."
"I know you will, Dean. Now, have you started looking a wedding rings yet?"
"No sir, I don't have enough money for a wedding ring yet. I'm going to save up for a wedding ring."
"I'll take you ring shopping tomorrow and I'll help you pay for a wedding ring, Dean."
"Sir, you really don't have to do that."
"I would like nothing more that to help you."
"Thank you so much, sir."
"You're welcome, Dean. Meet me at 7:30 here tomorrow and then we'll go. Ok?"
"Ok sir. I have to go, bye sir. Thank you for your permission again."
"You're welcome, Dean. Bye."
I got up and walked out of Uriel's house. I got into my car and drove to Cas' house.
