Hanaa's POV
Riker sniffled and blew his nose yet again.
"Told you so," I said softly.
Riker tried to laugh but ended up coughing instead.
"Yeah, you did," he said hoarsly.
Riker's face contorted in a sneeze and he picked up a kleenex. The sneeze didn't end up happening so he just sat there looking like an idiot for a little bit.
When he finally realized the sneeze wasn't gonna happen he sniffled and spoke to me.
"Hanaa, could you please get me another blanket?"
He looked and sounded so miserable, so I agreed.
I came back with a nice thick wool blanket from the linen closet and spread it gently over him.
Riker was curled up on the couch with five blankets piled on top of him, plus two sweatshirts, three pairs of sweatpants, his thick bathrobe and a stocking cap.
He was wearing his glasses in case he fell asleep or something. He learned that the hard way.
Suddenly my mom appeared at the door. I went home for dinner and as soon as I was finished raced back over to tend to Riker.
He had fallen asleep on the couch, his glasses falling off his red nose.
I took them gently off his face and folded them, setting them on the coffee table in front of the couch.
I tugged his stocking cap farther down over his ears and tucked the blankets under his chin. He shifted, curling into a tighter ball.
I smiled at his sleeping form then leaned down to kiss his hot forehead.
I snuck into the kitchen and informed the Lynches that Riker was asleep and I'd be back to take care of him the next day.
Stormie came to hug me. "You're such a dear."
I pulled away from the hug and started to walk away but Stormie grabbed my arm.
"He really loves you, you know," she said into my ear.
I smiled a small smile.
"I love him too."
