Hanaa's POV, One Year Later
I smiled down at my eight-month-pregnant belly, feeling the baby kick. Riker was upstairs doing something in the locked room, which he still wouldn't tell me the use of.
All of a sudden, my stomach pinched painfully and I felt a warm liquid on my leg.
"Riker," I said. "RIKER!" Even louder.
He came rushing down the stairs in paint-splattered overalls and his glasses. "What? What is it?" He asked breathlessly.
I met his gaze from across the room. "I think my water broke."
Riker grabbed his keys from the counter and helped me up from the couch and into the car. All the way to the hospital, he was pushing the speed limit.
"Riker...it won't do you any good to get us into an accident."
His foot eased a little off the gas pedal. "I'm sorry, I just-"
"Screw the speed limit!" I screamed, feeling another comtraction.
Soon, we were at the hospital and I was being taken into a room, Riker forced to wait in the lobby.
I was delighted to find that Kristinne was a nurse in my room.
"Okay," she said. "I'm gonna talk you through this."
