A Different Kind of Devotion (R5 Fanfiction)

Hanaa's POV

Riker's pain stayed at a minimum all night. I saw him wince a few times when hugging people though.

Partway through the party, a familiar song came on.

Riker came over to me and held out his hand. "May I have this dance?" He smiled.

I took his hand. "You may," I giggled.

And we danced to Go Light Your World.

It was prom all over again.

After we finished that song, all of the other boys decided to dance with me.

Ellington came last. He bowed low before me, extending his hand. I giggled and took it.

Halfway through the song, Riker tapped Ell on the shoulder. He stepped out of the way and I was back with Riker.

He spun me around the backyard. The song ended and...

...I splashed into the pool.

I surfaced to see everyone practically rolling on the ground laughing.

I put my arms up for people to help me out, Riker grabbing one and Rocky grabbing the other.

When I was on the edge of the pool, I flung my arms backwards, sending them flying. I heard two large splashes behind me and pumped my arm in success.

That made me wobble, and I teetered back and forth on the edge, finally falling backwards into the pool.

But I didn't hit the water.

I landed with a soft thud in Riker's arms, and we locked eyes.

I kissed him quickly but passionately, glad I didn't re-injure his rib.

I heard a spash next to me, then another, and another.

Next thing I knew, half the people at the party were in the water. We had fun splashing around and even had a water war.

I climbed onto Riker's shoulders and Ross climbed onto Rocky's and we had a chicken fight. I grabbed Ross's arms and he grabbed mine, each of us trying to push the other off. I eventually shoved Ross off Rocky's shoulders, but he kept a firm grip on my arms as he fell. I flipped over Riker's head and splashed into the water.

I popped out of the water, and noticing Ross was turned the other way, I leaped onto his back. He stuggled, trying to shake me off. I finally managed to force him underwater. I jumped off his back, satisfied.

He turned around, pouting. "Heyyy."

I laughed and dove underwater, but Ross grabbed my ankle before I could escape. Riker came over to help Ross splash me.

We were all having fun, ignoring the darkness quickly settling around us.
