Even more water filled up the tube, to the point where Cassidy began floating in it. But she was held down to the bottom by some sort of chain. We looked at her naked wings and lifeless body and instantly knew this was our Cassidy fading away. But suddenly the chain snapped and she was able to swim to the surface and crawl out of the tube. With a quick kick off the bottom she swam all the way up and jumped out. Her landed with a loud thump on the floor and walked up to us.
" Cassidy! " Rhett said and embraced her in a hug.
She carefully hugged him back and I saw the wings of Rhetts back fading away. Cassidy must have noticed too because she hugged him even tighter, making his hair color change back as well. Rhett began crying and she rubbed his back.
" Shh, shh. " She said and continued rubbing.
When she slowly pulled away she wiped Rhetts tears with her thumb. Rhett, who now looked like normal again picked Cassidy up.
" You're safe with us now. I won't ever let anything hurt you ever again. " He said and kissed her forehead.
Cassidy leaned her head on Rhetts shoulder.
" I know. "
