Link looked at me in a weird and suprised way.
" Are you okay buddy? " I asked.
" Y-yeah. All good. "
His face was pale and his forehead shiny. I knew he'd pass out so I held my arms out and caught him before he could fall off the bed. When I gently shook he woke back up and looked at me. He looked frightened and tired.
" Hey, Linkster. Come here. " Cassidy said.
Link turned to her and leaned closer. She smiled and placed a soft, gentle kiss on Link's cheek.
" Thanks for the snacks dad. " She whispered.
Link looked at me, then at Cassidy and then back at me again. Cassidy had a bright smile on her lips and struggled keep the happy tears from spilling out of her eyes. Link seemed to freeze for a second.
" D-dad? " He gasped. " Did you call me dad? "
Cassidy continued smiling as the tears slowly started running down her cheeks.
" Yes. I called you Dad. "
Link basically threw herself at her and hugged her tightly, beginning to sob quite loudly on her shoulder. Cassidy looked at me.
" Uncle Rhett, join the family hug. "
