⚠️ WARNING: this is one of my first fics // Valerie Scott was very similar to Sirius Black in many ways, pertaining to their families outlook on blood purity, and their brave Gryffindor hearts.
So why did they only just meet in their fifth year?

The next morning before classes started; Valerie was visited by Elizabeth "Morning." Elizabeth said. Valerie looked up at her big sister.
"Fancy seeing you here Lizzy. Finally decided to come visit?" "Oh don't be such a brat, Lizzy said before flipping her hair over her shoulders. I haven't had the time." Well, your were probably busy because your were shagging half the male population of Hogwarts. Valerie though to herself hastily.
Although Valerie gets along better with her siblings than her parents, she still feels a lot closer to Lydia and Aurora rather than Katherine and Elizabeth.
" How's Kat?" "She's fine." Lizzy said with an ever so bored tone. "She's always in the library. And believe me, I've tried to get that stick out of her arse but it's to far up there." She shook her head. "Well maybe you would benefit from getting a stick up your ass, it'll stop all the horndogs from putting there-" "Stop. Stop right now." Lizzy said with a disgusted face. Valerie laughed as Lizzy scrunched up her face and left her room.
"Lily, are you almost done in there?" Valerie called towards the shower. "yeah!" Her voice trailed back. Five minutes later lily was dressed and the two headed down to breakfast. "When I was in the shower, I heard you taking to someone." "Yeah, my sister." "Ugh, my sister goes to muggle school." "How exactly is that bad." Valerie asked, her eyebrows furrowing at the fact that Lily was upset her siblings was miles away. " I don't know. She started. I just feel like we could have a relationship if we went to school together." Valerie nodded her head in understanding, even though she didn't quite get it.
"Evans, Scott!" James said happily. "Potter." They said in unison. "How'd you sleep?" Remus asked, taking a bite of eggs. "Good." They said in unison, yet again. "What's with the saying-everything-together-thing?"
" 'Dunno." Lily said, sipping her pumpkin juice. "Yeah it's nothing." Valerie said smiling.
After a filling breakfast, the group walked to potions. "I really don't feel like being here." Remus whined. "You and me both." James said clapping him on the back.
Slughorn had instructed for them to try the first step in the process of the polyjuice potion.
Valerie looked at the ingredients Lacewing flies (stewed 21 days) Leeches. Powdered bicorn horn. Knotgrass. Fluxweed (picked at full moon) Shredded Boomslang skin. A bit of the person one wants to turn into (typically hair) She picked up a lacewing fly and dropped it into the pot. Do I really have to stir this for the next 21 days? She thought about the next 21 classes and how they would only be stirring a mere pot for the entire class. So exciting.
"Alright, that concludes today's class. Best be off." Slughorn said. Everyone gathered their belongings and headed out of the dark, gloomy dungeon. Sirius was giving James a piggyback ride and Remus tried to knock him off James' back. I could almost feel Lily annoyance; she was probably thinking of a million insults to through their way at the moment.
"Blasted idiots." She said rolling her eyes. "Yeah, but you have to admit their kind of adorable. Especially James." I added cheekily. I watched in amusement as Lily scoffed. "That boy, is far from adorable." "Well in your mind he's super mega adorable."' She just looked at me, cracking a small smile.
