⚠️ WARNING: this is one of my first fics // Valerie Scott was very similar to Sirius Black in many ways, pertaining to their families outlook on blood purity, and their brave Gryffindor hearts.
So why did they only just meet in their fifth year?

"Hello sister." Jeered Elizabeth. Valerie pursed her lips angrily. She certainly was not in the mood for sisters antics. "What do you want?" She snapped. "Now, now, dear Valerie. She started with a mock hurt expression. I only came to talk." "Yeah, well it seems that when ever your in my presence I find myself struggling not to hex you." Valerie said sharply.
This didn't seem to bother Elizabeth in the slightest, as her blue eyes gave a small twinkle. "I was just wondering how you were holding up. I've seen you wandering about the halls lately, you looked so sad." Valerie gave a her a look. "And when have you ever cared about my wellbeing?" "Now that's harsh Val. I've always cared about you." Valerie gave a menacing laugh. "What are you really here for Lizzy?" Elizabeth narrowed her eyes before saying " oh alright, it's your little group of friends. It's not the ginger I'm concerned about, it those boys." "What about them?" Valerie could feel her blood boiling. "They just don't seem to take any interest in me. And you of all people should know, I've managed to wrap every Gryffindor boy around my finger. She implied as she gave her index finger a twirl. "Maybe, just maybe, their not like other boys. They aren't interested in daft dimbos like yourself." Valerie retorted hotly. Elizabeth scoffed. "Well you were no help, as I predicated." She flipped her long blonde hair and walked off. "Yeah well if you predicated it why'd you come here?" She yelled. Before closing the door, Elizabeth turned to give Valerie a cold look.
Blimey, how am I related to that she-devil? She thought, rubbing her temples. "You okay?" Remus asked, seeing Valerie was clearly not in the greatest of moods. "No, actually. My wonderful sister just payed me a visit." "Ah, siblings. I've always wondered what it would be like if I had any." "Yeah, well your not missing out on anything, I can assure you that." She said getting up. Where's the lot of them? Asked Remus. "Dunno, I assume their at breakfast. "
Her assumption was proven to be correct as James and Sirius were deep in conversation and lily was reading her newest spell book. "Where've you two been?" Inquired James with a wiggle of his brow. Sirius elbowed him in the chest at his comment. "I was only joking." "I think we can all agree that your jokes aren't funny." Lily commented whilst continuing to read. "Oh Evans, I think we can all agree that that's just your way of confessing your love to me." "I can agree on that one." Sirius said raising his hand. "Same here." Remus smirked. Lily and Valerie locked eyes before bursting into a fit of laughter. "Boys." They scoffed in unison. "What ever will do with them?" "I have a suggestion as to what you can do with me." Sirius winked at Valerie. "Oh a tempting offer. But I think I'll have to pass it up. Maybe another day though." Lily gigged at Sirius' expression. "C'mon Valerie, we have a free period, let's go to the lake."
The two girl admired the glistening snow that covered the trees, and the lake that once was liquid, now frozen over. Valerie pulled out her sketchbook. "The sceneries perfect for a quick sketch." She thought aloud. Lily nodded in agreement and lay peacefully in the snow. "Are you going to make snow angels?" Asked Valerie with raised eyebrows as she began to sketch the silhouette of the evergreen trees. "I don't see why not." Lily moved her arms and legs in a circular formation, creating a snow angel. Lily got up to examine her work. "That doesn't look like a snow angel." Valerie said eying the ground. Lily was trying to contain her laughter. "Well, if you squint your eyes and tilt your head a little to the left... it looks kind of like a person." Valerie got up to do just that. Suddenly she found herself trying to contain her laughter as well. They fell to the ground in fits of laughter.
After about ten minutes of nonstop giggling, Lily spoke up. "I'm glad your my friend." She said, grabbing Valerie's hand and giving it a light squeeze. "And I'm glad your mine."
