The next morning Valerie woke up to find herself in the Gryffindor common room, with her head resting on Sirius' shoulder. She looked over to him. He was sound asleep.

"Have we been here the whole night?" She thought to herself.
"Get up." She said swatting his head.

"Wha- I'm up."
The brunette rolled their eyes.
"Good morning Black."
He smirked. " 'Morning Scott."

They walked to the great hall, there stomachs growling with hunger.

"Hey Evans." They heard James say.
Lily hit him over the head with a newspaper.
"What? James asked cluelessly. What have I done now?"
"You've done nothing, Remus said eyeing Lily. She's just in one of her moods today."
"Isn't she in one her moods everyday?" Jeered Sirius as he bit into an apple.

Lily scoffed and ran out of the room angrily.
"I'll go get her." Valerie said reluctantly.

Valerie decided to check the lavatory, and sure enough Lily was there.

"I just don't understand!" Lily mumbled before kicking a stall door.
"You don't understand what?"

Lily peered over her shoulder to find Valerie leaning against the sink.
"What don't you understand?" She repeated.

The ginger ran her fingers through her hair in a stressful manor. "I just don't get it, I don't get why she hates me!"

Valerie eyes narrowed in anger. "Who hates you?"
"My sister, she thinks that being a witch makes me a freak."
Valerie walked closer and set her hand on Lily's shoulder. "You're not a freak. You're an amazingly bright, beautiful, wonderful witch that just so happens to be my best friend.

"Thanks Val. I just wish she-"
Valerie cut her off. "You wish nothing. She's not worth it Lils, even if she is your sister." She said, embracing her into a hug.

"What triggered this anyway?"
"I got a letter from her. Lily said pulling it of the hug.
"Here." She said displaying the letter.
"Let me see that." Valerie crumbled it up and threw it in the toilet.
"There, now it's where it belongs." She smirked.
Lily giggled in reply.
"Hey, do you want to hang out at the lake tonight?"
"What do you think?"

"Wow the waters freezing." Lily exclaimed, pulling her feet out of the chilly water.
"I don't know, I like it. It's refreshing."
"Yeah, if you call refreshing deathly cold."

Suddenly there was a growl heard in the distance.
The two exchanged looks as if they were asking each other what the noise was.

"There it is again." Valerie said getting up.
"C'mon, let's go check it out." She suggested.
"But it's coming from the forbidden forest, we're not allowed."
"C'mon! Or else I'm going to have to drag you there."
"Fine." Huffed Lily.

As the two girls moved closer and closer towards to mysterious noise, it became harder and harder to tell where it was coming from. Now there was growls coming from each direction.

After a while, they reached the middle of the end of the forest, and the growls seemed to come closer to each other.

"It's all coming from that direction!" Pointed Lily.

They moved  a little closer, until they saw three animals standing not too far from them.

A black dog, a werewolf and a stag.
"This is what we came all the way out here for." Lily sulked.
"Well it's certainly more interesting that sitting at that lake."

Valerie felt a repetitive tap on her shoulder. She turned to see Lily with her eyes wide, and her mouth hanging wide open.
"For merlins sake what is it Lily?"
But Valerie's question was soon answered when the dog, the werewolf and the stag all transformed into humans.

But they weren't just any humans. They just so happened to be Sirius, Remus and James.
