I'll Miss You Grandpa.

April 19

Today was very sad for us. Ms. Dolly, my mom, and I met my siblings at Grandpa's where they had him in a hospital bed in his living room. It was very upsetting to see him barely able to breathe. He was asleep but one of his eyes was open, which he's done before. He was a little bit yellow from liver failure, and there was a fluid tank running, which was hard to listen to knowing how sick he was. I couldn't even stay in the room half the time because it was so sad to hear him trying to breathe (even though I could still hear him from the other room). He didn't really wake up, but was still alive. There's nothing worse than seeing your grandfather in a hospital bed suffering. (It was pretty bad with my grandma, too, but I think I was more upset today seeing Grandpa because he was breathing so hard and Grandma wasn't.)

My mom, siblings, and I talked to Grandpa, and I don't know if he heard my brothers and sisters because their voices are only audible to me, but I wished he could have heard them. They were giving him kisses and hugs like I had. I got teared up when Enna told him, "I'll always love you and miss you."

We all went to eat at Fulin's with Ms. Dolly for lunch and then went home. It wasn't until a few hours later that my
mom and I were talking to Grandpa on the phone (the nurse had put the phone to his ear). He couldn't talk but he could hear, and we told him it was time to go to heaven and see Grandma and I told him he was a friend as well as my grandpa and we said we loved him. Then when my mom called back a few seconds later to ask the nurse something, the nurse said he had passed away while we were talking to him.

I'm sad that he's gone but happy that he is in heaven and he's not suffering. I won't have to wake up worried about him anymore and he'll never have any pain ever again. He's always been a Christian and I know God is proud of him.
