Lynn fell out of bed this morning and landed hard on the floor and hurt herself. Guess who came to her rescue?
Today, Ms. Maddie came to determine the dances for the competition June 15. She helped me with my Sleazy solo and then left, and came back later with Madeline, Monica, and Marybeth to work on our group dance to Want It.
We did pretty good! I could tell by how happy Ms. Maddie was.
When Lynn found out she wasn't walking to Monica's with us for dinner, she began to beg Ms. Madison to take her to the store. I knew what that Lynn was up to. Ms. Maddie took her to the store. They had to get out of there quick because Ms. Maddie had said something about Lynn having a boyfriend...right in front of Devon! I know Lynn was so embarrassed.
When we got back from dinner, Lynn was back as well. She showed me what she'd bought with the $200 Monica's mom and Marina's mom had given her. It was a solid gold watch for Devon. I couldn't believe she'd spent all her money on that!! If Maxine (Monica's mom) finds out, she might kill Lynn. But she can't find out or she'll tell Aunt Becca and then Aunt Becca will know she bought a present for her boyfriend.
Lynn didn't think Devon would like the watch but I told her he would love it because it came from her, and that she meant a lot, if not everything, to him.
Before Lynn could give Devon his watch, Devon asked her if she was about to go to the bedroom to work on her book and she told him yes, so he went in there and then walked out. I went in there next and saw a small bag with a paper that said "Lynn" on it. It was a bag of chocolates.
Lynn was elated. But my aunt began to fuss at her when she saw her eating sugar, and she told her she shouldn't be eating sugar. (Ms. Madison had said something about us dancers eating sugar earlier.) Devon told Aunt Becca to let the kid eat her chocolate. (He was trying to disguise his crush on her by calling her "the kid".) Aunt Becca didn't know it was a present from him.
