What A Day!

June 16

It was a very sunny, very hot day. It was perfect weather for us to go to Wave Country for Marina's and Katie's birthday. My friend Julie went, too, and so did Ms. Dolly, Brennan, Karilee, Minnie, Millie, Lynn, Gwen, Marin, Monica, Katie, Marina, Madeline, Anabelle, Zoey, Anne, Daisy, Mary-Anne, Erica, Destiny, Allayna, Lexi, and Lia.

Julie stayed in the shallow end of the wave pool because she's scared of the deep end. But the rest of us didn't mind going to the deep end. Madeline and I sat up on a tube riding the waves like we did last time. When the waves stopped, Monica and I swam to the shallow end for our exercise. I talked to Julie and then we kept swimming.

When the waves stopped again, Monica, Allayna, Mary-Anne, and I went up the stairs to the 90 foot speed slides. We were scared as heck- I was terrified - except Allayna, who said she wanted to go down by herself. Monica and I went down together and she screamed the entire way down, while I was actually too afraid to scream. It sure was fun though! Minus the part where water went up my booty, of course.

Monica and I watched Mary-Anna and Allayna go down the slide after us (Allayna didn't end up going alone, after all). Then I had to go to the bathroom and poop (that slide had made me have diarrhea). Then I sat with Julie while she ate lunch.

When Julie was done eating, I decided I needed some water so I wouldn't get dehydrated. It was a super hot day, so it was a bit hard to wait in the long line just to get a bottle of water. I was sweating and then when the line moved up, I began to feel a bit nauseous. I knew it was the heat. It didn't get any better. I began to get this sensation that air was rushing through my head and everything and everyone else started to fade into the background. I was trying to stay upright and not pass out, and it was hard to breathe.

I could barely hear my own voice as I asked the ladies in front of me if I could go ahead of them because I was about to have a heat stroke, and they could tell and said I should probably sit down. So I sat by the concession stand in the shade, not feeling any better until I finally got to go get my water.

By the time I got my water, I was okay and got back in the pool with my friends. Brienna told me Destiny had almost had a heat stroke, too. I wondered if she'd been at the concessions stand, too. Lia and Lynn had been in line with me but they didn't stay in line and I didn't notice they left, probably when I was too busy worrying that I was about to pass out.

Enna, Gwendolyn, and I went down one of the regular slides. It twisted and turned and jerked us all around. Enna wasn't happy about Gwen going with us at first because she had just wanted to go with me, but she was fine.

Marina and I went to go down the speed slide together. We saw Lia coming toward the stairs, and Marina called out to her. Her intention was to shove Lia down the slide when we got to the top. Lia was so rude to us (even the birthday girl!!) when she caught up to us, calling us both fat. I knew Marina really couldn't wait to shove her down the slide then.

When we made it to the slides, Marina knocked a screaming Lia down the steepest, scariest slide ever. Then Marina and I happily rode the other slide (the bumpier one). When we climbed out, Lia was hunched over the other slide, gasping like she was crying and holding her stomach.

Ms. Dolly was hurrying over to her and Marina and I started running, even when Ms. Dolly yelled, "Stop!" We ran to the wave pool before Ms. Dolly could even catch up to us with Lia and we jumped in the pool. I almost landed on top of this one kid, but it was okay. As long as we were away from Ms. Dolly! Katie asked us what happened. We could see Ms. Dolly helping Lia, who was hopping on one foot.

Everyone had to shower and pick up clothes from their houses because half of our friends were staying at Marina's and half of them were staying with us. Joseph came over and then left, and Monica came and we walked to her house for dinner.

Now, she, Lynn, Gwendolyn, Madeline, Erica, Katie, Daisy, Anabelle, Marin, Zoey, Ms. Dolly, Brennan, and Karilee are here.
