May 13

I am updating this now because I couldn't get online to do it while I was on a cruise with Brienna, Madeline, Anabelle, Marina, Lexi, Monica, Erica, Life, Bree, Katie, Zoey, Jadyn, Joanna, Demarrah, Destiny, Ms. Dolly, Karilee, Brennan, Bronson, Mrs. Stacissa, Isica, Ms. Scarletissa, Ms. Madison, Nori, Mrs. Meredith, Neva, a few of the teachers, and about 14 kids in the class.

Mrs. Meredith, Brienna, Lexi, Madeline, Anabelle, Marina, Erica, and I got up at 3:30 in the morning to get ready. We'd all gone to bed too late. Monica met us at the house and came, too. When we got to the airport, it was still dark and we had to wait for everyone to show up. It began to get lighter out, and we waited for our flight to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Erica and I played Candy Crush while we waited.

We got on the airplane, and I hadn't been on an airplane since I was 9 and went to Chicago with my grandparents and cousin, Ella. So it was a little scary taking off this time. I was sitting right next to Ms. Dolly, who had Karilee in her lap. I was surprised there was even a seat next to me for them to sit in. It was a full flight so I thought some real person would have to sit there.

It was scary going faster and faster and then we took off up in the air! It was fun, though. As we were taking off, Ms. Dolly squeezed my hand and Karilee let out a shriek. She'd never been on a plane before. When we got high enough, everything below looked so small. I had the window seat, so I could see everything. Then as time went on, we began to notice the clouds below. They looked so cool! Karilee would have to crawl over my lap to see out the window.

Ms. Dolly was fun to ride with. It was funny to watch her get scared every time the plane would turn. I wonder what she would've done if it flipped upside down.

We were up so high that I could see a black tint in the sky, like the beginnings of space. The sun also looked like it was just sitting on the clouds. When we began to land, Dolly was all excited and she was giggling because Karilee was squealing.

After we landed, we went to the baggage claim. One of the boys in my class kept picking up a jockstrap that kept coming around. We went on a bus to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale and I sat next to Anabelle. Across the aisle, Mrs. Stacissa was sitting with Isica in her lap. When we got to the place where we would board the ship, Anabelle was shouting excitedly because there was a water slide at the top of our boat! I was excited, too.

I wasn't so happy, however, when we had to sit and wait for about half an hour, and I hadn't brought my book. It was in my suitcase being put on the ship. GRR. I wanted to get on the dang ship already!! We had to wait in another long line, which went all the way out of the building. At least there was music playing while we waited. Then after showing our passports, we had to wait in another line inside another place!!

Then, finally, after all that waiting, we got on Carnival Fantasy, the ship. It sure was loud in there, because there was music and a bar right in the center.

The rooms were small, with two beds on the floor and two that pulled out of the wall. But we couldn't get the beds to pull out.

It was time for lunch, so we went to the lunch buffet on the lido deck. The food was extremely plentiful, and delicious! They even had ratatouille in the Italian section! Their strawberry cake pops were really good, too. You sure stuff your face a lot on the cruise ship! Erica sat next to me as we ate.

Then Erica, Brienna, Bree, Madeline, Ms. Dolly, Bronson, and I walked around the boat with a few girls in my senior class. It was so cool and there were a lot of fancy rooms and nice decks. The pool was pretty small and there were two hot tubs.

Marina and I walked around together taking pictures after a while. Then there was an announcement for all passengers to go to their muster station. I didn't know where mine was, and I was lost. Finally, a lady told me to look at the card we all got when we boarded the ship, and it said my muster station on the card. I was in the same station with Erica, Marina, Zoey, Ms. Dolly, Ms. Scarletissa, and all the teachers and kids in my class.

They took us to the lifeboats to show us where they were in case something similar to the Titanic happened. As we were standing there, looking at the lifeboats, the announcement came on that we were about to start heading to the Bahamas. The boat honked and we were off!

Madeline and I walked around together, lost, trying to get back inside. We didn't know we were moving until we were walking on a deck and we noticed that the boat was, in fact, moving. We finally got to the room and Madeline and I sat on the bed, hanging out. Madeline told me a secret that there was a princess on the boat. I wondered if that was true or if Madeline was just telling me a story.

We decided to go swimming and we went on the slide first, which went really fast. Madeline was behind me screaming the whole way down, and I was taking a video of my feet going down the slide with my phone. I should've just sent my phone down the slide. It was in a lifeproof case, so I wasn't worried holding it all the way down. It flew out of my hand though when the slide came to a halt. I got it out of the water and it still worked! Madeline was surprised.

We swam with Monica and Madeline was getting a little aggravated that we kept following her around the pool. Then I decided to sit on the balcony and read. I didn't get much reading done. It's hard to read with all the stuff to look at on the ship! When I got back to the room, Bree was in there. I had her come outside and sit with me. She said she hated to read so she didn't read, but she did walk up with me. I called my mom, and still didn't read.

Dinner was at 8:15, and we ate in a fancy dining place on the ship called Jubilee, where there were lights in the ceiling that changed colors. The portions of food they gave us were very small, but it was good food. It was better that the portions were small, after all we ate for lunch earlier. Then at the end, they did a little dance show and the lights were changing colors even faster.

Brienna and I went night swimming, and the pool kept changing colors. When we saw Mrs. Stacissa walking by, Brienna told her to please go wake Karilee up and bring her to the pool. Mrs. Stacissa was hesitant at first, but she went to get Karilee. Then Zoey got in the pool and I swam around with Karilee. Ms. Dolly wondered why Karilee was in the pool when she was supposed to be sleeping. Dolly was mad at Mrs. Stacissa and went stomping over to her.

Marina was swimming with us and Erica and Madeline were, too. We were all playing Brienna's new game, Sinking Ship, where we try to get on top of each other and drown each other. We didn't play that game for long. I don't know why Bree was in the other pool instead of swimming with us. Destiny swam with us but she'd only been in the pool a minute before we got out. I don't know if Destiny got out, but Madeline and I went up to bed.
