June 21
Man, we were late getting out this morning. Mrs. Meredith and I had overslept and right when we got up, I got a text from Julie that they were there. We had to rush to get out the door! We were going to Nashville Shores for Monica's birthday. Portia and Riley didn't come (they went to Seas of Seattle instead) but Monica, her sister Madigan, Madeline, Anabelle, Marina, Millie, Minnie, Mary-Anne, Erica, and Olivia were there. Lynn, Gwen, Ms. Scarletissa, Ms. Dolly, Mrs. Meredith, Aunt Becca, Gi, and my siblings besides Portia and Riley had come with us, of course, and Karilee and Bronson were there, too.
We got there a little early, so we were standing there a few minutes. Julie asked if I wanted to do the Big Kahuna first so Julie and I went with Monica and Mrs. Meredith. Bri and Gwen were going to do it with us, but they waited to go after us because Brienna wanted to hear Julie screaming from the top of the slide.
I had my phone in my hand before we went, and I was trying to pull up the camera while the lifeguard was giving instructions, and he said, "Make sure you listen to the lifeguard..."
Finally, halfway down the slide, I got the video recording and told Julie, "Keep screaming," and that she did. It was funny and Monica was giggling the whole time as Julie screamed like she was being tortured. You'd think there was fire on the end of the slide! I showed Julie the video and I don't think she liked that too well.
We swam in the regular pool and I swam laps with Monica and Mary-Anne, and swam with Karilee on my back. She's so cute squealing when we go under the water fountain.
We did the wave pool next. I just love jumping on a float in the big waves that knock you over and push you into other people. Julie and I kept rotating between the wave pool and lazy river. Bronson kept trying to get on my float in the wave pool.
Julie, Erica, Mary-Anne, and I ate lunch together and Mary-Anne was getting annoyed at her sister because she kept singing to the music that was playing.
While we were eating there, Monica, our 20-year-old, was eating in the birthday zone, which is for younger kids, I'm pretty sure. I knew Monica wanted to eat down there, though, and I find it cute how she always gets so excited over that kind of thing.
Later, Karilee and I went down a slide together and she stayed in my lap squealing the entire time. As we were walking past the kiddie pool where Ms. Dolly was, Karilee yelled, "Mommy!" I think it's so adorable how she gets so excited to see Ms. Dolly. They love each other very much.
Karilee wanted to go in the wave pool, which was exactly where I was going, so we got in. Ms. Scarletissa was in there and had to help Karilee get in my lap so we could ride the waves together. I couldn't quite out her in my lap since I was on an inner tube, and Ms. Scarletissa had to help put her up there every time we got pushed toward the shallow end and I had to get back to the deep end. Karilee is a brave little girl- she wanted to be in the big waves all the time!
I had the little girl in front of me in my float in the lazy river, holding onto it, and the next time I just held her while I slid around on my knees. Then Dolly kept putting Karilee in my lap in the wave pool, and we had so much fun!
Minnie and I rode the Twin Cyclones.
Back in the wave pool, I couldn't find an available float so I grabbed the first float someone lost and tried to swim off with it, but there was this kid holding onto it from the other side, and I was still trying to drag it out to the deep end with this kid still hanging onto it. I think it's funny wrestling kids for floats.
Then this woman who was probably the little girl's mom said that float was the little girl's float before I'd grabbed onto it and she wanted it back so I rolled my eyes at her and swam away, finally finding a new float. Karilee was riding on my back and then we had to get ready to go.
While the others took showers, I sat at home naked watching Little House on the Prairie.
Now Brennan is here, along with everyone else.
