1) I needed a name for a character and I happened to want some candy from the brand of Necco. Played around with the word a bit, and out came Nicco ;) Who would've known that he would've been such a sweetheart? (If you didn't get the bad pun, Necco makes candy called sweethearts lol)
2) I pictured KL's doctor as Carlisle from Twilight XD
3)Some of my characters names are from Japanese origin because I would like to learn the language. Also because it gives them unique names that stand out from many other characters in books.
4) Red roses are full of life, so black roses represent death. But if you noticed, the black flowers never withered up......
5) I can write well when I'm fully awake, but in my opinion I think my best writing happens when I'm tired. I have no idea why.
6) I like constantly switching between character views because as a writer, it gets boring for me to keep talking from one character's point of view. I like to write what is floating around in other character's heads versus having to figure them out plainly through their actions
7) I had Shadow's future created before I actually created Shadow
8) When making up Kratos's character, I was stuck between the names Kronos and Kratos. Feeling that Kronos sounded more like a name that would fit a time manipulator, I chose to go with Kratos. Also because I hear the name Kronos being used frequently, I gave him the name Kratos so that it was unique.
9) Wanting an elemental name for a girl, Raine's name was inspired by none other than rain. Betcha didn't catch that one ;)
10) While Shadow was intended to be more of a side character, I found his part in the story becoming a much more relevant part.
11) The Camaro that Kratos stole was based off of my dream car. Except, I'd prefer it in green :P
12) Shizuka's nails are always intricately designed. She prefers getting them airbrushed or getting acrylics.
13) Originally, KL's real name was supposed to be Kitara-Lee Kiyano, but I decided that Lee sounded more like a second last name or a dude's first name so I changed it to Kitara-Lily to give KL that type of gentle, feminine feel. I also think that it works better with her personality.
14) The idea of having intial's for KL instead of just using Kitara-Lily came from the Korean popstar CL.
15) Chinese food and pizza are my favorites, hence why those were the dishes that KL and Seth would usually eat when having a movie night
16) In the first draft of the story, Nox's character wasn't introduced until the last few chapters
17) In the first draft, KL and Kratos had their first kiss in chapter 12. In this version, they never kissed.
18) In the first draft, Nicco found his way over to Shadow's place. In this version, his story didn't end on too happy a note.
19) Jagger's wings were a new addition for the second draft of the book
20) Go back to chapter 4, look at the doctor's name, and then take a peek at the cast list ;)
